Somewhere in Finland Dolumberist is thanking your Department of Foreign Affairs for the bureaucracy. Did you know I actually need a letter of invitation from the person I am visiting if ever... harsh

Letter of invitation needed to visit from Philippines? Really? Does it stand also for tourist visas as well?

Tourist Visa, would need an itinerary from a tour company. If none then they will treat it as a personal visit and would require a letter of invite.

@ Piirka, "inviolable" the hell, it's just for dinner and maybe coffee. You sir, have offended my person, I demand a drink off when we meet, given that I am aggrieved it shall be with a drink of my choice. Depth Charges. :>

Just came back from my resit for English Syntax. Gonna be iffy methinks. Because I managed to end up at the wrong side of town for the original Literary science sitting a couple of weeks ago and wasn't allowed to start once I got at the correct location, i'll have to resit that as well, tomorrow. One of those weeks I guess...
I'm going to assume I didn't make Syntax and do everything I can about LitSci, as I need 50/60 credits to start next year's classes, and i'm currently at 45..

Lot of shifty shyte going on at Uni: Because of the new way semesters are going to be structered next academic year, they're changing or even scrapping a lot of classes. In some cases this means people get to do a fricking replacing assignment or even do a sort of low-key summer school-esque thing if they fail a current class. Because of this, a classmate of mine didn't go to the exam for Academic Writing, because she knew she could get away with writing a paper over the summer for one of the easiest classes we had this year( my weighted average for the class is an 8/10, and i'm not exactly the most stellar writer) while i'll probably get shafted on Syntax and will have to wait until the second semester of next year to redo the entire class..Gonna see If I can cut a deal with the lecturers should the need arise.

    What?
Why are you so mean to me?
I'm really fascinated by the story of your problems at the Uni.

When striking a deal with lecturers always appeal to their intellect, their egoes demand it. Smooth talk your way, but if they drive a hard bargain go straight to offering *** for the grades, up the ass, shaft and balls together in your mouth. shaft and balls together in your mouth with the TA up your ass while caressing two dudes, whatever it takes. If that doesnt work offer bribes or gifts. Should that fail too, then obviously diplomacy has failed. Now comes the hard part, find some dudes that can make those professors disappear for good or extract answers or a pass from them. Make sure that the pressure is enough that the profs dont capitulate and stay the course for good... the hard part is paying those dudes that you hired, as they might just ask for money or you might have to resort to... shaft and balls together in your mouth with the TA up your ass while caressing two dudes.

Your post is so oddly specific I cannot help but suspect you've had much experience
I think i might just pull the 'WTF do people that failed an essay writing course(we had a book but it was worthless as we only 'read' a select few pages) get to do some semi-sanctioned stuff to make up for the credits?' card, as I suspect it's being kept on the DL for rather specific reasons.

Bet there were a lot of poles that had to be greased.
    Hurr hurr, double double entendre.

You generally can't even finish your degree here in less time than 'it says on the box', as you're not allowed to do classes from a later year during your current year. There is the Honours Programme, but that's just 30 additional credits on top of the 60 ECTS for the normal academic year. There won't be any delay either, since you do the classes you didn't pass in the following year, on top of the regular classes.

yeah it was nuts for me, basically a full time student for all 3 years including summers to get things out of the way. Finals involved a lot of redbull and litres of Coca Cola

Thinking about doing the third year Philosophy of Science course next year so I can fill the first semester of the third year with electives, possibly to do those abroad. Gonna be a b!tch with retaking phonology at the same time though..

If Phonology is gonna be a bitch take that in the shortest term, which is summer and focus on it. I did that with Quantitative Techniques, cause you can see all these people bitching about it in restroom stalls, so I can focus on it. Loved it and aced it.
