Thanks brother. A lot of things on her side but I will admit I'm sure the way I acted and dealt with some circumstances didn't help. At the same time the measures she took were a bit out of line.

My only advise is keep it as amicable as possible. If she wants stuff, let her have it. They can be replaced. It'll make the process shorter, faster, and cheaper from a legal bill point of view. I took it as an opportunity to unburden myself, downsize, lighten my load. Wasn't fun, but it oddly enough did lead to a good place. An older wiser you can reboot to Life v2.0.

I second that thought: Keep it amicable and friendly, if at all possible.

I know several ex-couples who fight over money issues all the time. At the very best, it leads to animosity and spoiling of the kids by competing at buying those children gifts and "better experiences than what the ex provides". At the worst, they spend all their extra money on attorneys' fees.

My choice though, so all is well.
If it's the right thing, the pain will be worth it. Good luck with it and keep well bud.

Yeah I plan to, found out some things lately that really just made me realize I don't need to talk to her for any reason right now until the papers are there waiting for her signature. I'm actually doing pretty well though so no worries here!
