Ought - If you keep that attitude up you will come through OK.

    Still, sorry for your loss.

HR is already involved, already well aware of my medical issues and my mom's death, and they are supporting my boss. I saw the same thing happen at Microsoft when I worked there. It is SOP for them once a manager decides they want to get rid of one their employees. I was surprised to see that at my company, but in retrospect that was naive of me.

It sounds like your company are working just on the correct side of the law.
Big corps have buildings full of lawyers to figure out just what they can get away with.
    ----------
I am just thinking out loud of ways to mess with them.
I am letting all that go. It is their karma to deal with.

If I just did not care and wanted to hurt them I could make a fairly interesting YT video about the whole thing. Corps hate it when you reveal their less friendly methods to the public at large. But that would just be bad karma for me.
    ----------
Are you part of a union....
    No.
    ----------
.... or would you be willing to join one, just so as to get some free legal assistance as well as to possibly make it harder for them to fire you?
No. I am technically a 'manager', though I manage no one. The union contracts with my company specifically exclude management employees. Regardless, a would not want to join a union. I have worked in union shops, and avoid them like the plague due to past experience.

And aside from all that, the relationship between myself and my employer is irrevocably poisoned now. My stomach would be churning every morning at the prospect of going in and even seeing my boss. I can put up with it for now because I know it will end soon, but if I were able to somehow remain on permanently that would continue to eat at me and damage my health in the long run. I need to get out and they want me out. Getting another job before they fire me is my focus now.
    ----------
Either way, my condolences on your loss and good luck.
Thanks. I know it is just the internet and I do not really know any of you, but it still means a lot to me.

And a weedwhacker with the heavy-duty blades is what you need. Or an ox-acetyline torch.

A gentle touch of cranial blunt force trauma should enhance the effect of the rufies.
