    One of my sons has just bought a 9year old golf GTI, very low mileage mint condition, but £6,000!, seems a lot to me.

    Golfs are always ridiculously expensive. Especially GTI's...Mate of a mate bought one (forgot what he paid, but it was a lot) to later find out it had been in a crash. Rear axle was slightly deformed..

    My Golf GTi is an 02 plate - one careful(?) owner from new

    Still a cracking motor, but I'm not sure I'd pay that for it...
