    I blame Hollywood.
Actually you are right. Most of the neighborhoods then were a bit iffy and there was a whole section that burned down. Kingsbridge is a small, lower middle to middle class neighborhood though and Riverdale for the very rich.

Ever see the film Wolfen? Albert Finney, I think. The desolate empty ruins you see in that film are the South Bronx in the 70s and 80s. Like a post apocalyptic world in the middle of NYC. Huge barren empty lots with piles of garbage and bricks. One house still half- standing in a field of debris like the remains of the World Trade Center for almost miles. The good old days. It's come back some though. <sigh>

    Dude, Wolfen is the shit.
That is one of my all time favourite horror films of all time.
However, I am speaking from memory. I haven't seen in it in a long time.

Yeah, I haven't seen it in years. Maybe they will put it on a good commercial-less channel someday soon. I've cruised through the neighborhood once or twice with my Old Kingsbridge Gang looking for God knows what...

If you don't like it at 20 degrees (of C, that is), then send it over here. Many thanks.

40 F here today. Seasonally warm, they say. We hit 50 a few times this week. Getting cold in the Great White North Poco?

Not cold, still above 0 C degrees in Helsinki, in the north below zero. But if it's going to be like this for some weeks still, why not +20 C then?

I know. It's in the 20s F tonight (below freezing) but, more pleasentness tomorrow. When it is like this it hits...hard...all at once and doesn't get warm again.

I was drunk and I needed cash, but too drunk apparently to get my card out, should always remember this golden rule, never ever take a card with you when you go out, You'll spend less and you won't need to face your local bank clerk everytime you loose it
