Funny situation this week
My boss took some days off and appointed me in charge of the office. "Being in charge" doesnīt mean more money nor a promotion, itīs just that if any problem emerges, theyīll call me to deal with it.
He specifically asked everybody to give me a hand upon my request.
Well, my first "being in charge" day started as usuall, but as soon as I politely tried to see how everything was going on or requested some help, all the worse from my so-called coworkers erupted: a lady (who spends all her days asking for MY help, for free, that I friendly give) rejected me and started to complain for any imaginable ground. At the end she simply said "canīt you do it yourself, whatīs the matter with you ?" (only one day before she requested my help with a case of her own private practice)
Another lady, who is an overestimated old f*rt whose only merit is that she was there when they opened years ago, spent all day being `ironicī, not helping, making fun of or ignoring everything I said and, as a grand finale, she had a rage attack (literally) when I said something as silly as "donīt forget to lock the door when you leave".
What an unnecessary, stupid way to make yourself look like a total piece of cr*p.
I thought I had 2 coworkers, now I see I have 2 worthless elements I canīt count on at all. Needless to say, I had to do all the work myself.
I sent a mail to our boss reporting it; I donīt care: they failed as team, as professionals, and ignored an order, not to mention their disrispectful means toward me.
Talking about it with a Mr who works in a different area, he told me that episodes like these are pretty common: people turn from cool to sh*t when youīre given just a little authority, much specially when they know itīs just for some days.
Iīll pay back, thatīs a given fact.
