One more thing, Operator up front is wearing a Petzl light around his neck: something I keep on expecting to see in pictures from Iraq, because their just so damn useful, but it appears they just arent catching on.

Dya think the crane stocks are the fingerpointers on this one?

    Not nessesaraly.

Crane sells it's wears to SF as well.

The bird in the background is more of a giveaway. I can't tell if it's black, black and grey, or grey.

A grey bird would be Navy, giving some clue, but again, it's not a possitive.

And the fact that it's a non-combatant excercise at Fallon. Never mind the shoes ..

It's the old NVG headgear that throws me off. What's the new one called again?

The background of these look like the same that are in the first photo. It appears to be a Army/Navy joint operation exercise, (Navy and Army birds).

I'm not AD anymore. I left active duty military in 2001, but yes, I was.

Again, Spec Op guys get a lot of leeway in footwear. Boots have come a long way in a short time. Civilian boots are really good for operations.

I don't know what the new NVG headgear is called. I used the PVS-9C back in the day, not sure what's being used now.

I don't want to trip over my inexperience here, but doesn't the little thing perched on the air intake of the engine in the first picture identify it as a Navy Helicopter?

    I don't know.

    Looks like a small compass.

Or one of those pop dice rolling things used in board games.
