I played the Civ 5 demo and it's really good. This is the first time I've played any of the Civ games and I can see why people say it's so addicting.

I never did understand why they would do this. My sympathies to my fellow (and apparently second-class)Eurogamers.

It only gets more fun as the game progresses....too bad the demo is limited to 100 turns or something, bleh.

Quite a few things, like instead of squares its now hex tiles making for more natural looking terrain and movement. One unit per tile only, so no more stacks of doom to waste time managing. You can purchase tiles now. Streamlined the UI and tucked away a lot of the info so you see more of the game, and also simplified city management somewhat. No more popups in the middle of the screen stopping the game, instead you have a queue now which you click on the events sitting there. All kinds of stuff, I'd def recommend the demo to try it out.

    And now St. Petersburg

since most other games on markets (e.g. COD) do not have any "AI" at all, just a bunch of bots running on scripts...

I pre-ordered Civ5 and it's on its way to me. In the meantime, I bought Civ4 (because I'm basically a compulsive 14yo in a 40yo man's body), and I didn't like it at first. Now I do, and I like what it looks like they did with Civ5. So, I'm semi-stoked, I think. Plus, the UPS man is delivering my new Merrell Zombie-Stomp X4sn's at the same time.

Is GTA 4 still extremely buggy and unoptimized? It was very GPU intensive last time I played it, and it really put my GTX 285 to work with everything all maxed out.
