This turned out to be less of a PITA than one would think when seeing something like this.

War of the Roses sucks.
Now, preorder Dark Souls? Y/N/Maybe
Dark Souls 2 for PC?
Of what I have read it looks like this:
+ Great story and gameplay and great sound
- bad graphics (for PC) => direct port without any optimization, 720p resolution which is just upscaled, no AA.. only video option besides resolution (which is just upscaling the low resolution) is vsync.. and that one does not work
- controls are horrible, again no optimization at all for PC, key layout is horrible as well (alt+shift to open an important ingame menu which can not be changed, but as the game uses Steam this opens Steam overlay instead)
so overall it's said to be a terrible port without any efforts from the developers.
after a small shitstorm from gamers they promised some patches.. but its doubtful that anything besides maybe controls will be patched.
The weird thing is that the Steam version seems to be considerably cheaper than all of the retail versions I saw.
However, considering the stuff SR mentioned, I guess I'll wait till the first reviews come in.
If you have a gamepad you might circumvent most of the control issues as its basically still laid out for a console
of course most PC gamers prefer keyboard and mouse though.
Who said Pantheon was bad late game?
(16 kills, 5 deaths, 11 assist)
IMO, Pantheon's heartseeker actually scales very well with additional ADs as he gets better items. With my items it was doing 1200 damage, with decent directional AOE. The only problem with Pantheon had usually been that he was too squishy to adequately survive an initiation in most late game battles, and he did not have any escape skill either. That's why I took care to enter battles with ult from a far distance, cutting off enemy's retreat and flanking them. I picked whoever had the lowest health and pelted him with my Q, stunned, then unleashed the heartseeker. Gangplank's crowd control helped me to sort out my targets. It was one guaranteed kill at least. The skill combo also allowed me to block at least three enemy autoattacks (once when going in, once after stun, and once after the three skills and a normal hit) and survive a few seconds more to deal out a bit more damage. by this time my AD was around 250-300; three hits were enough to kill the next guy hit by heartseeker, after which my Q had reached CD and I could throw another one. I always took two or three with me before going down. Nunu and GP survived the best because they had very tanky builds, and mopped the floor with the stragglers. GP's three thorn armors were gold (about 400 armor, giving him 80% AD resistance); once Akali was dead he was almost invincible.
Oh and Pantheon is a great ganker (or a mid laner). His ult is pretty much built for that.

You need a decent computer to run it as there are "many" enemies...my computer freeze a lot playing this map.
Have you ever played Severance: Blade of Darkness? I have played BoD, but not Dark Souls 2, and DS2 reminds me of BoD. With that in mind, I would not pay full retail for DS2, but I would certainly buy it on discount. That is my opinion though, your's might differ in the end. If you can download BoD, try it out. If you like it, get DS2.
If I see one more Skyrim screenshot I'm going to kill something.
