Yeah its a weird mix of the above, and also other RTS genres and a bit of RPG in there too.

It's good fun, addictive, and I like it. But I can't see myself playing it more than 2-3 times. Definitely not worth $79. More like $30ish.

It gets fiddly managing items on cooldowns in your warehouses. Is there a way to say, put worker drones automatically in a slot provided I have some spare, or do I have to manually keep an eye on that sh*t?

And German players usually complain that the newer (Ubisoft) Anno games are dumbed down and not fiddly enough
Although I think this one and the onw before (1404?) were considered slightly better than the other Ubisoft ones.

Same goes for the Settlers series of games by the way ^^

I have no clue anyone more. My mind wrote over Anno gameplay memories.

Been killing time in Doom II, had no idea how long the game was! o_0

I'm still playing through Doom. I didn't realize it was that long either. Quite surprising because I don't remember it being so long of a game!

Rise of Nations was an impressive game. Just really well done. Also the AI was actually decent. It attacked with feint attacks and all sorts of shenanigans.

Nope. I think there is only one game released by Microsoft on steam. AoEIII.

I like complexity, but there is no notification that your item is about to expire and having to reslot it constantly is inefficient

hehe i hear you. When it came out free to play i downloaded it with very low expectations. But the game is actually pretty cool and fun.

And yeah it is and still is to some degree. And I played that game when I was younger, still amazed I beat the damned thing. And yeah they really don't. I like going back through everything trying to find the secret stuff that I somehow managed to find when I was younger.

The only oldies I replay regularily are UFO(X-COM) and first two Fallouts. Same for various Stalkers, but those are not old enough yet to count.
