I don't hate it, Min...in fact I think its a pretty good game that fills a much needed niche quite well. I just don't have the patience for it mostly.

Hmm looks good. I havn't played a 4x space game since moo3 which sucked. So the space combat is a roll the dice thing? Or does it change to an RTS game like Total War?

Not RTS, no..combat is divided into 3 phases and it basically switches to a cinematic view of the combat as it unfolds. First phase (long range), you pick a "card" (extra repair, extra damage, extra missile avoidance, less kinetic damage etc) and you sit back and watch it unfold....then the next phase (midrange) pick another card and sit back and watch, then last phase (melee) same deal.

    This will help:

Had two really good games. One was a defeat though, even with two yari cav units striking his general while he was in stand-and-fight special ability. Later I watch a replay and see that his warrior monks have 17 attack, and I thought that katanas beat naginatas in melee... If only I had access to mounted bowmen, bow warrior monks, great guard, matchlocks, no-dachi samurai... but hey - multiplayer unlocks are cool, right? :P

Upgraded great guard. Crapload of melee attack and defence. And he had two! Had to send my entire spear infantry to counter those.

    Two ninja yari cavalry :P

I'd say it's worth the money. It's a real joy to fly - a lot more fun than the A-10. Not many fun missions out for it atm, so I just create fast missions. I'm sure that within the next month or so you'll start to see some really good, fun missions come out that will make the sim even more enjoyable.

    More pics from tonight:

    Cool scenery

Looks like I'm flying real low by the water, when I'm actually at angels 10 and it's clouds you are seeing

what it looks like when descend through the cloud

The real plane was lost at Duxford last year, she lives on in the sim though lol

I wouldn't buy a laptop just for gaming, that's silly. However if I'm moving around a lot, using it for other stuff and it's my main computer I'd like it to have some gaming credentials.
