Not too sure what you mean JCR, as it is currently released as an Alpha and is purchasable/playable.

Yes, but when you preorder now you get immediate access to the game as Alpha and will be upgraded later to the retail version (where the price will probably go up for those who haven't bought it yet). Minecraft did something similar didn't they?

And about the title, I still need a substitute for my Captain Smartass one.

I wouldn't buy a laptop just for gaming, that's silly. However if I'm moving around a lot, using it for other stuff and it's my main computer I'd like it to have some gaming credentials.

Basically what I did. My lappy config is DC 2ghz, 3gig ddr3, and a gt520m - Runs Skyrim on medium and does not overheat. Serves the purpose just fine.

In space battles, does battle automatically end with one side being anihilated or can ships of the losing side survive?
That always bugged me with Galactic Civilizations...

Not always, it can end in a draw and some of your ships can survive - you can see it here at 3:00 (he says he lost everything, but you can see two ships that survive, and at the very end of the combat sequence you can see one of his ships quite clearly go by)
