All the consumer class laptops are crap whether they're Acer, Asus, HP or any other manufacturer.

If you want quality get Lenovo/Dell/HP business class or Sony portables.

Well most of the brand name products you mention here are mostly made in China nowadays, so getting a really reliable and durable consumer electronic product is like drawing a lottery, then again as you said it's the way how you use it or abuse it. My last laptop never had any problem at all, I carry it around all the time but I tried to be careful not to drop it or bump into hard surfaces.

Not being rude or anything but Lenovo is NOT exactly a quality manufacturer I will be looking for when I want to buy a PC, I heard a lot of complaints about the reliablity issues regarding this chinese company products.

They've been made in China for ages and before that in Taiwan and Japan. The same was said about those countries in the past what is now said of China. All of them manufacture top quality electronics today. In China you get what you pay for. Quality products are great but if you buy cheap shyt don't expect miracles.

The laptops they make are no less reliable than those of IBMs. I know, I've had 6 IBM/Lenovo laptops of different generations and they all have had their share of the problems (although compared to cheap crap very minor problems). Besides, Lenovo has been building IBMs laptops for long before the Thinkpad brand was sold to them.

All in all, Thinkpads still are propably best or close to best you can buy on the market. A premium class business laptop doesn't get much more solid than that.

I'm using a wireless network. My PC doesn't like it and drops momentarily every 15 minutes or so. Sucks.
