Ive been getting really bored with all of the games I have already. Im thinking about picking up S.T.A.L.K.E.R. but I cant decide between buying the original first or just go ahead with clear sky?

Wait and with Far Cry 2 why are all the rifles left handed if your right handed?

Is it true that the mortars can jam? I heard from a friend who has the game that they can, and that doesn't sound very logical .

Go with the first one. Clear Sky has unresolved bug issues.

I finished FarCry2 just because. Yep, the driving around is a yawnfest and the missions are all the same really. Still, it's a drop-dead gorgeous game, probably the most photorealistic one yet.

Everything the enemy drops jams more than it should. You can get reliability upgrades from the gun shop, AFAIK.

To be fair chap, it's not worth playing the game far enough to unlock them.

I don't even have it, I was just wondering if what I heard was true. Sounds like I shouldn't buy it though.

Well what I didn't mention is that I got Farcry 2 free as part of a graphics card package!

A few things about it are bugging me, first is the AI and how it always seems to find you, sometimes in ridiculous locations a half a mile away. The AI never variates from its usual "run you down" approach, and the enemy vehicles are always just a tad faster so you can't out run them in a straight line. Ironically, this game was praised for it's AI prior to its' public release - honestly I find it to be quite sub-par.

Second thing that bugs me is how much guns jam, and how fast they rust and get old. The game includes a day and night simulation which seems to last about an hour (not sure how long it really is), and your gun could rust away in less than half a game day - a bit unrealistic. Worse yet, Jams are ridiculous in their frequency. Yet another ironic part of the game, seeing as how they included these fancy features to make the game "more realistic" but in doing so, made it extremely UN-realistic.

But before you call the game a total piece of garbage, there are a few redeeming features about the game. First is the photo-realistic graphics and weather, they're absolutely fantastic. Seeing that tall field grass waving in the wind just BEGS to be used as a sniper's hide.

    Here's some eye candy:

The sound is equally as impressive for MOST of the guns, I feel that the RPK and m249 sound a bit weak. The explosions are fun (whether by an RPG or a IED), and starting things on fire can be fun as well.

So if you can look past the annoying AI, unrealistic weapon life, and redundancy in missions, it can be quite enjoyable. All I can say is that if you want to try it, I say go for it. But if your looking for an incredibly deep plot line with interesting characters, go get HL2, because Farcry 2 lacks that to the extreme.

Speaking of which, I'm still waiting for this:

I agree, the game got old really quickly. If you keep up doing the missions the same way.
I got tired of playing it at something like 70%, but i thik i figured out that the best way to play the game is to things differently for every mission. Go sniping in one, and use the mp5 in another, day, night.

Like someone said earlier, its a game to pass time and be creative i guess/.

    my .02 cents.

i was really dissapointed by far cry map editor, cause you could not place any NPC's or wildlife, therefor it shattered my dreams of hunting zebras and other animals (or people :P) in the savannah with my sniper rifle..
    anyway some more CoD:WaW:
