Volvo the Game, which came out on May 26th as a free download. Not a bad game, graphics mediocre though probably due to my setting it to medium.

You could set up a user and competitively race against eleven AI Volvo cars around one of two available tracks. Best played with a steering wheel.

    Gothic 3 Forsaken Gods

Not impressed by it so far - poor man's Oblivion. Meant to buy Gothic 3 itself, but got this instead :/

Started playing Saints Rows 2 yesterday. The first time I played it, I thought it was absolute crap and was glad that I rented it rather than bought it. But after playing for a few hours, it's grown on me. It's a good game, if you can get over the cartoonish graphics and the way cars are driven.

The amount of things you can do in the game is what keeps me playing.

I thought the exact same thing. Then withing 4-5 hours of playing I realised I was having the fun that I meant to have had in GTAIV.

The more I play, the more annoyances I come across, but I still continue to play. The things that bug me the most is that you can't outrun the police or an enemy gang while they chase you, due to the invisible jet rockets that lay underneath their vehicles. As well as the unlimited supply of manpower and vehicles that the police and gangs have.

I bought a PS3 when GTAIV came out just to play that game. While it was pretty and fun, I found myself just doing the storyline. Free-roaming was just not as much fun using the controller.

Last weekend I bought a new PC, and installed GTAIV and FarCry2. Both run without a hitch at their highest settings. Far Cry looks like a movie. In GTAIV I even have "vehicles" set to 100, the whole city is gridlocked.

I can now safely say, that for ME, a good computer will ALWAYS beat a console. It just looks so much nicer, and now I don't have to prat about using the controller to shoot.

(I will say, I also played Assassins Creed on PS3 and PC, I prefer the console in this case. Gameplay is very fluid using a controller. But if the game has things that go bang in it, don't bother. Get the PC version!)

I did shat bricks when I read up about GTAIV though, seemed people with very high end PC's were having trouble, it was a hit and miss-affair. No problems to be reported here.

And it's running Windows 7 RC 7127 atm. Even that works like it is supposed to!
