No, but I'm within my rights to bill them for a consultation. Whether or not they would pay it is another story.

The media and their campaign to indoctrinate the country in to a mass of mindless green people.

Arghh god damn bureocrats I hate hate hate them. Just got a letter going like that. Dear mr. Asheren we were unable to find any reason to not give you your security license. We had to extend procedure beacuse our law gives you one week to explain yourself if we were able to find a reason to not give you that damn scrap of plastic.

Sometimes I do give something, most times I don't.

Something that have struck but that I have kept to myself, would it be so bloody hard to have a shoe shining kit or whatever and provide a service to bypassers instead of just begging..

Thor then they would have to work.
Intresting thing is that sometimes those ppl aren't soo poor or homeless.
There was as study done here in poland about those guys it was a quite intresiting if i find it ill translate it a post in flame and rant part. Lots of beaggars and homless decided to became what they are for whatever reason they got. Few years ago after homless woman died here police dismantling her cart found around 10000zl(~3000$ druing that time). A good beggar can earn more during a week than averange joe having a normal job.
Luckly for some reason they rarly ask me for a change.

The money you give them perpetuates the cycle that keeps them there.

Next time someone asks you for 20 cents, hand them a quarter and ask for change.

I promise you they will be blown away.

I don't give sh*t to the homeless. My city has multiple free meal/shelter/etc. programs, but the catch is that these people usually have to show up sober to get the freebies, and they'd rather have the $$$ to buy a bottle or dose of heroin.

Default Regarding Aerosoul’s comment about his love of money

My one desire is to make millions for myself. But I've never had good grades in school, so that really f*cks up some options. Should have done well in high school. Gone to a good college. Should have been motherf*cking smarter.

Thinking of yourself as being better than other people, as defined by the "stuff" you have, makes you happy - and money allows that to happen. It's the most superficial of expressions of self-worth. But the problem is, once you start running in those circles, with others who play by the same rules, you'd better be prepared for some rather severe keeping up with the joneses. And when you can't keep up, you'll be hating it. So it's kind of setting yourself up for failure...unless you wind up being Bill Gates II.

I have some friends who entered the millionaires club two years ago - bought two huge houses, the big Lexus SUV, a new Mercedes coupe, and a new 911 - and they're miserable. Because their new friends have more, and they appear poor by comparison. So they slum around with me. Hey, whatever works. But that's one of the things I'm currently hating - all they ever talk about is money - and it's source of all their misery.

You are worried about being accepted to a college that guarantees admission with a 3.0 GPA, or 1020 SAT, or a 2.7 GPA and a 900 SAT score. Come on, 900 on the SAT? 1000 is supposed to be average, what happened? What did you do in high school, just not go? Southern public schools are notorious for having low standards so did you just royally f-up in some way?

That is the problem with families that have money, you have no ambition because you have no necessity for ambition because everything you wanted was always handed to you.

I feel sorry for you and the fault lies with your parents since they never instilled you with a sense of urgency, only pride and entitlement. A 20 year old doesn’t need to be driving around in a 5 series BMW, especially one that already crashed a previous expensive car. They didn’t push you to get good grades for your own benefit and now you have to learn that lesson yourself.

Clean is right, suck it up and do something for yourself. You will probably feel more self-worth when you earn something on your own: grades, wealth, whatever, rather than have it served to you. Have some realistic expectations for yourself too. “I want to make millions” is an unrealistic expectation unless you have a surefire plan. Good luck with that.

P.S. Someone will always have more money than you. Try Greenwich CT or Manhattan or several places in CA or northern VA. I don’t think any of those people would be any happier if they had more money. Maybe your parents should cut you off completely and you would be appreciative of the lifestyle you are used to.

That's where I am at, I'm trying to do this for myself. I didn't go to public school here, I just didn't ever put much effort into my work.

The money I mentioned that I wanted to make - I'm not trying to compete with other super-rich people. If I do make a bunch of money, will I end up trying to compete with others then? Very possible. But I'll face that if and when it comes.

You all can think whatever you want about wealthy families, look down on them because you think they look down on you, that their money always makes them miserable, fine. But that's not the way it is with everyone.

Will I appreciate my own achievements more than what has been given to me? Of course! But see that's exactly what I was saying already. That I am frustrated with myself for getting such a late start on this. All my friends are already sophomores in college, I haven't even completed a semester.

And again - the wreck was not my fault and it was no longer an expensive car. Not even worth 10K.

This is what I get for posting at a time when I'm trying to start my own life. Forget it.

Red speaks mostly truthiness, but then again Aero is ~18 so just give him a break. He will straighten things out (no phun intended).
