Being unknowingly used as an "emotional crutch" by someone who I thought was a longtime friend -- I provided much support, comfort, and understanding to her in a difficult time (after a hard breakup with an abusive partner). Turns out she was merely using me as a source of support until she was able to get back on her feet to go chasing after the asshole again... and wouldn't you know it, they got back together.
