You can see old BOV 4X4(APC) on the 5th picture which has been replaced with Valuk(our version of Pandur 6x6), so these are hmm 5 years old pics.

No, no... Bov were last year still used by military police. and they have so called warrior(bojevnika), which was not in use five years ago. And even this pics are not from the same time like this with belgians.(vzorec tistih ki ležijo ni belgijski ampak isti kot naše šotorke, in jih včasih vojska uporablja za nasprotnike)-sorry for not writing in english, but i havent know how to write in english.

Every summer slovenian school for officiers have common exercise with belgian military academy. Our boys go to Belgium, to practice urban combat, and belgians come to slovenia to practice mountain combat.

I am not about to enter discussions as to which one is best or who is better, this is photo thread, and do not care for anything else to see on these threads other than photos. You want to open thesis on armor protection you are welcomed to it...
Do you realise that you can kill crewmen of all 3rd generation tanks using 30 or 40 mm cannons... ? Of course it depends of the armor thickness an you must find a weak points... For AMV IFV and APC's those protection norms are much more lower... I have never heard aboud any IVF or APC fully protected against 30/40 mm modern cannons...

They are marketed with protection of up to 30mm, but I haven't seen any info about Slovenia requesting this level of protection. And that probably means that Slovenian vehicles will be delivered with standard level of protection.

Check new German IFV with level C protection. It weights 43 tons, almost as much as medium size MBT, and offers protections against 30mm AP rounds, front and sides. Also Israeli Namera and APC based on Italian Centauro.

Hello slovenians, I got question on you. Does slovenian army still use Armbrust (disposable rocket launcher)? Are there any expectations to acquire MATADOR (development of Armbrust by israelis) family of launchers?

    Dear Members,

Is the Slovenian unit in Afghanistan allowed to operate anywhere in Afghanistan or is it restricted to the Kabul and northern area of Afghanistan like the majority of nation's military unit sent to Afghanistan?

    Dear Member,

The Armburst is not a rocket. It is a recoiless antitank weapon that creates no flash or smoke and has a sound report like a pistol. That came as a shock to many when the first news film showed it in use when Yugoslavia split up. They were secretly bought and supplied by Singapore.

PS> Triva - Some Armbrust were bought secretly by the US government in the 1980s for supply it is believed to their US Navy SEALs. Never had been revealed as to why and whom.

Russia to Settle Clearing Debt with Battleship

    20.12.2007
    By STA
Defence Minister Karl Erjavec confirmed that a part of Russia's US$ 129 million clearing debt might be settled with US$ 40 million in military equipment - a rocket system and a 50-metre battleship which could serve in protection and rescue operations.
Erjavec said at a session of the parliamentary defence committee that it would be a multi-purpose ship used for protection and rescue missions as well as diving operations. The ship could also operate in the Mediterranean in intercepting drug trafficking ships.
The Slovenian Chief-of-Staff, Lt.-Gen. Albin Gutman, meanwhile confirmed the agreement with Russia and added that the ship would have a 25-strong crew and that there would be also room for 10 divers. The ship meets all NATO standards, he said.
Opposition deputies Matej Lahovnik of Zares (For Real) and Aurelio Juri of the Social Democrats (SD) said that the proposed ship was too large for Slovenian waters and that the purchase of a smaller and faster vessel would be more reasonable. Drago Koren of the coalition New Slovenia (NSi) meanwhile believes that the agreement is good and that the ship could be useful for major rescue operations. The decision was also welcomed by other coalition members of the committee
