Default Desert DPM Trousers, help identify make.

    Hello,

Hoping one of the Brits on here can help me out, I have a pair of Desert DPM Trousers that are not like the standard Soldier95 make. These trousers have been excellent and feel great but I was looking for a pair in Standard DPM, instead of desert. I bought these on eBay and sense then have been unable to find a pair that are the same manufactre or make.

Can anyone assist me in identifying these pants and where I can get more, especially in standard DPM. There is no NSN on the inside tag and I assume they are some kind of 3rd party copy of the issue pants but from having/wearing other soldier95 pants these one feel far superior. Well, I hope some one can help. I've tried searching the web, etc. to no avail.

    Here's some pics...

    Desert DPM Trousers

Back Pocket, notice flap over pocket unlike many other soldier95's

Side leg pocket, notice small button

Button fly with zippper. Also the belt loops are all fastend with buttons.

    Inside tag

    Other side of inside tag

Anyone know the manufacture or make of these and where I can obtain more?

    Thanks.

You'll find alot of UK copy/reproduction DPM items are much better in quality and
robustness, remember UK military clothing is made in bulk, i did hear that production of some UK military clothing had been taken over by a number of factories in India.

    Hello,

I believe they are genuine, MOD issue trousers. The mfg is listed on the tag as CW CW Ltd, which as I recall is a legitimate contractor for the British MOD. They are definitely pre-S95 issue trousers, but beyond this I am not quite sure how to fit them into the production spectrum except to say they are printed in what I believe is the 2nd generation of desert camouflage produced by the UK (3rd generation, if you count the original 4-colour desert DPM that was quickly discontinued after the start of GW1). The 1st generation desert DPM was of a much "denser" concentration, whilst the later issue schemes are more sparse.

I am sure there are British scholars out there who could possibly elaborate with greater detail.

    Hope that is helpful.

    Cheers,

They look like desert pattern "junglies" (trousers, combat, tropical).
I'm sure the desert kit I got issued in 91 was like that.

Thanks for the info everyone, lot of insight into what I'm looking for from the info I think the pattern I have is a soldier90 desert DPM. Now the trick is to find some of this on the net. Anyone know of any online shops? Most all I see is the 95 pattern some 94 and oddly an 85 pattern...

The one Mr. Steve Andrews posted a pic of is the exact pattern I'm looking for, thanks everyone. At least I know what I'm looking for now.

If there is no NSN then I suspect the trousers are copies. The DPM pattern looks a bit suspect as well. It looks rather like the web-tex copy. Having said that, some copies are better made than the originals !

the trousers are copies of the old issue desert dpm trousers that were based on the old tropical (jungle) design these are far superior to the new issue kit and were like gold dust to get your hands on when i went to iraq in 2003.as for the dpm its just the same bog standard colour only it hasnt been bleached by the sun yet.
