erm? what? you hit another low in manipulating the news to push your agenda!! Among these ppl there are Olympic gold medal holders who are national heroes and most of them donated their trophy and medals to charities and to help earthquake victims in Bam… no matter how hard you try to say these facilities are for bomb making, there are hundreds of civil scientists doing nuclear research for civil purposes in these facilities that can have a great impact on Iranian ppl’s welfare…

Large number of Iranian athletes form human chain at Isfahan's Uranium Conversion Facility Photos: ISNA
Tehran, Jan 22, IRNA-Large number of Iranian athletes, many of them holders of national titles in different fields of sports, on Sunday afternoon held demonstrations in front of the center for research studies at Uranium Conversion Facility (UCF) in Isfahan and formed a symbolic human chain to display national support for civilian nuclear program.

The demonstration took place simultaneously with national conference of the Physical Education Organization in Isfahan.
The athletes chanted slogans of 'nuclear energy is our legitimate right', 'Death to US', and 'Death to Israel'.
They acknowledged their support for the national nuclear program.

Executive Director of UCF Behrooz Aqa-Ebrahimi Samani delivered a brief statement to the athletes and said that nuclear energy has a variety of civilian utilities.
"The civilian application of nuclear energy serves welfare while military application causes destruction of human community," he said.

"The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution has said on several occasions that Iranian religious leaders and Iranian culture never permit the use of nuclear energy for any other purpose other than civilian," Aqa-Ebrahimi said.
He said that Iranian scientists have made clear their objection to the use nuclear energy for military purpose and they will spare no efforts to help Iran attain self-sufficiency in the field of nuclear energy.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran calls for elimination of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD)," he said.
Iran is the vanguard in opposing use of nuclear technology for military purpose, Aqa-Ebrahimi said. He said that technology of processing uranium has become a national industry and Iran needs nuclear energy for civilian and peaceful purposes.

and btw, there is a deference between "human chain" which is for supporting something and a "human shield" for protecting something...

for example, this is a human shield:

do you see how easy it is to play with words and pictures?

Are you really that dense? How much oil is Iran sitting on again, and they need nuclear power? And they won't allow international cooperation because....?

What country would put in danger tens of thousands of women and children just because they want a nuclear power plant, when they are sitting on their own huge deposits of oil and gas. There is only one reason for their behavior, they want nuclear weapons.

So, you are saying, that hamas was going to use a suicide bomber to destroy the jeep, but the damn israeli's tied a palestinian boy to the jeep to prevent them...right. Do you realize how absurd you sound?

there hasn't been a single reputable economical view that disagree with Iran’s policies for achieving another energy sources... with a phenomenon like peak oil world will move on to nuclear energy sooner or later... if every reputable economist is dense then I am happy to join that club!...

Furthermore nuclear research is not only about energy, there are other scientific sides to it like medical…

Iran refuses to be like lazy Arab Gulf States that will go back to stone age when the world is done with oil!

here I bold my comment so you can see the point I was trying to make:

do you see how easy it is to play with words and pictures?

I was just going as low as the thread starter to show him how pathetic his tactics are, as some other posters pointed it out to him in his other "Iran bashing" threads...

Wow that's one hell of a missleading title.

I seriously doubt that they are going to stay there 24 hours to prevent an airstrike...more likely they are their as a "gesture" or to show off to international medias.

    Fox news, sigh.

this is just another episode in the weekly show of national support for Iranian nuclear program... in the last couple of months every week (or every second week) a group of Iranians will go to nuclear sites and show their support... Western media only covers the ppl who look more radical so it can serve their purposes... last month one of the strongest anti-governmental groups which consists of university students (that almost started a revolution couple of years back) went to Bushehr to show their support a day after they had a bloody demonstration for women’s rights... only a few independent Western media covered that... then again this month Iranian women association (which is the most active group for Iran's women’s rights) went to one of the nuclear site to show their support...

this demonstration wasn't the first one of its kind and won't be the last... so you might wanna get used to these "human shields" because you'll see a lot of them!

Yeah, well trust me I have absolutely no love for main stream western medias...all they do is lie (by exclusion or selective presentation of facts)to further the owner's and editor's point of view. This is clearly no human shield.

Then again Iran's medias are probalby also fanatical in their lies.

I think Western media is the number one reason for the level of ignorance among Westerners... although it seems European media is less biased than American media.. (I could be wrong)

i doubt that those kids will really stop anyone from thinking about hitting the area with an airstrike so its pretty much pointless to stand out in that heat

so you guys actually believe this? it was an after school demonstration and they are not gonna stand there permanently.. you can see their school bags with them or are you telling me they are taking their school books to heaven?
