Johnny I'd be extremley gratefeul if you could email them to me at radubv@gmail.com.

He, please remove the photos of the Einsatztruppen. They have nothing to do with the topic and I find them extremley offensive. Heck the whole post is racist and offensive. We could all find pictures and stories of NKVD killing people.

Thanks again everyone for your photos and info.

Sad to see fantassin being banned Hopefully he will return to the forums when his temp ban is over.

Thanks for these photos, they were new to me.

It could also be pointed out that Waffen-SS in Finland, and well the German troops in general deployed to the Finnish-Soviet front performed poorly. The Finnish chief of command Mannerheim called the German soldiers "spoiled big city boys". The Germans also got beaten back with heavy losses in 1941 up north. They mastered warfare on the open fields, but couldn't fight as well up north in the dense forests, their main problem was their Preussian chain of command, the soldiers didn't do anything unless ordered to. Finnish soldiers took more own initiatives and were more succesful.

Actually the "Prussian" doctrine was known for its flexibility

Is that guy on the left holding a Colt pistol in his hand? Were they taken as souvenirs just as Luger's were taken by the allies? Interesting...

No, it is FN Browning, widely used in German forces after Belgia fell.

And this picture is quite famous. The Men belong to KG Knisspel during the Battle of Bulge and it is still a mystery who the man in left is/was.
