Default Ecuador army, Colombia's FARC rebels clash in Sucumbios

The Ecuadorian army clashed with rebels of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) on Saturday night in the border province of Sucumbios, Ecuadorian general Gonzalo Meta said on Sunday.

The general, who heads the Ecuadorian army's Fourth Division, told reporters that it was the first battle between Ecuador and the FARC, Colombia's largest rebel group.

Meta said the army had captured two alleged guerrillas, eight backpacks filled with combat equipment, three AK-47 rifles, one M-16 rifle, grenades, bullet-proof vests, explosives and two electricity generators.

The military forced other FARC rebels to leave Ecuador and arrested seven people working for FARC.

    Welcome to the war Ecuador.

The Equadorian authorities should stumble across some FARC rebels armed with AK-103's anytime soon. Chavez has seen to that.

Didn't Caracas purchase 100,000 AK-103's from Moscow not so long ago and indirectly promise to proliferate them to "socialist resistance groups"

Haven't FARC guerillas infiltrated unhindered across Venezuela's borders rather frequently?

We all know Chavez is in bed with narco-terrorists.

They can also make large morters now thanks to a few "bird-spotters" who just "happened?" to be members of the IRA and just "happened" to spend several months in a FARC camp.

Any idiot can make WW2 like mortars using light industry. The FARC have also used rocket propelled gas canisters as deadly, if inaccurate weapons, as well.

The Colombian Government should be more concerned about Chavez and Castro getting in on the act than a clumsy trio of IRA fools.

." This improvement in FARC’s capabilities is apparent from the huge expansion in attacks in the past 18 months that has left 400 Columbian Army and police personnel dead. The attacks saw a shift to economic and urban targets as well as the increased use of car bombs — a development that has caused the death of 10 percent of the country’s bomb disposal experts since January. Columbian forces have also been increasingly targeted by ‘secondary devices’ — explosive devices used to ambush anyone responding to other, more apparent bomb threats. Longer range mobile mortars such as those pioneered by Monaghan have also recently become a new weapon in the FARC arsenal. Such strategy, tactics, and equipment bear remarkable similarities to those used by the IRA, greatly heightening the suspicion that Monaghan, McCauley, and Connolly were in Columbia for reasons other than eco-tourism or an exchange of experience on peace negotiations.

so if we all KNOW that chaves is in bed with "narco-terrorists" (great world by the way must be the best propaganda word since "godless-komunists") then you wont have any problems with showing some proof ?

And while you show that proof can you add the prof that he promised to deliver guns to FARC.

    I'm waiting.

If the FARC want to make some IED's and mortars they can read some technical manuals from a library.

There is nothing some amateur ASU operatives can offer the FARC regarding tactical awareness and armaments.

These are the captured FARC rebels. They had M-16s and Ak-47s.

FARC didin't have the technical know how.Once the Colombia 3 showed up on the scene they perfected there nail bombs, car bombs and gas canister bombs. Also huge mortar bombs.

FARC receive's training from Hizbollah which operates out of South America.
They were in charge of the bombing in Argentina.

What is with your hard on for the FARC?

they are a terrorist org that operates without the support of the Columbian people, the only people who support the FARC are cocaine users in Europe and the United States.
