Sorry, didn't know that for the ranks till now. But now I read the posing sticky.

The only reason why I took the sergent emblem, is the reason that I'm a real sergent of the army of my land. So I took the same rank for my reenactment.

    Wasn't an offensive to anyone

Alright, so I decided that I want to upgrade my Russian kit with a Sphera type helmet. However, I don't want to pay out the ass for a real one, so what I'm going to do is take an open face motorcycle helmet and modify/repaint it to resemble a Sphera helmet (which shouldn't be too difficult considering they are very similar in shape).

I also wanted to replace the chinstraps with something more accurate. Does anyone have suggestions for stores which would sell decent chinstraps?

Nice impressions. It's good to see someone get a little dirty vs brand the new CIF-turn-in-ready gear look. Is that a normal kevlar type helmet?

    2. What is the helmet on you? PASGT? Our airbornes don't wear this helmet.

Try to use flora cover on the US MICH - it will look better.

Russian airborne in the China. A little bit of posing, you know

    Another guys. No helmet cover.

    ...

    Sir Jan:
Yes it is PASGT....I have it, because it is almost impossible to get Russian kevlar helmet....
With Mich it wouldn´t be better because it hasn´t got "peak" like Russian one...
About telnyaska, in autumn/winter weather you are trying to be in warm, not to show your telnyaska and be in cold
    But otherwise you´re right

    My guess is www.redsoldier.com

With regards to helmet, it is possible to get older helmet like 6b7 (which is still used), but you must be willing to pay 6-800USD

I think British MK6 helmet might work a little bit better than US PASGT.

The newest helmet, the 6b26, looks quite a bit different from either so I'm not too sure what would be the best substitute.

What about SSh-68 (СШ-68)? It is used in VDV and it costs about 30$.

  11. #266

Ssh-68 is good for all branches, but if one is trying to reenact modern kit "Barmitsa" like it looks like Cokl was trying to do, then it's no good.

Yes, but if you add a cover, it looses most of that old-school looks it has to it

*note that this isn't a kit, and I'm not claiming it to be one - just accenting on the helmet.
