Now look at my reply.
I am pro abortion.
But due to the reasons why SD voted on this issue I support it 100% due to the fact that it followed democratic principles.

Go there. Look on your left. It will still stay on the top 10 topics for a few hours.
Still getting it... strange.
hmm
Your not goth enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Seriously
What it's about is the goths are crying foul about the laws South Dakota have made in regards to abortion.
I'm sticking up for these laws due to democratic processes being following.
I went even further and said that they must despise democracy because of their stance.
My exact words
I suppose democracy is as only as good as it is made out to be when it suits your own ideals?
When it doesen't it's not democracy?
no state can make abortion illegal, we do not live under a democracy, but rather under a constitutional republic. The current interpretation of the consitution (somehow) states that abortion cannot be banned wholesale by any state. It is the law of the land according to the Supreme Court and the second any law to the contrary rears its head a judge will point out this fact (provided one sues) and strike the law down.\
don't worry, people try this kind of crap from time to time
.. as for your comments about democracy, luckily we do not live in one (in the US)
This is an attempt by South Dakota to force the Supreme Court to rule on Roe v. Wade. The SD politicians know the law will be ruled against by local courts, they are just waiting for their chance to fight it to the top.
NN
Here's my take. It's a deliberately extreme law, passed with the intention of provoking the other side to sue - which would almost certainly trigger a series of lawsuits that will land it in the Supreme Court, when the Roe vs Wade precedence will come under review.
It's a clever move, really. The Pro-Choice activists had no choice but to sue. If they don't, more states might follow SD's example and institute similar laws. If they do, it will almost certainly be brought before the Supreme Court eventually where the Roe-Vs-Wade precedence would be in danger of being overturned.
Clever.
One of the notions of US democracy is that the majority doesn't rule all the time.Originally Posted by Minardiau

The wheels are turning, and they aren't easily stopped. For better or worse, that's how it goes.
Although I'm all against abortion i don't think that it'll make things any better. People who want to do it will still want to do it and they will always find a doctor which will do it even if it is illegal. Or they will just go to another state. But nice try anyway.
bad bad bad... scary acording to me...
In the end the law will be overturn but not without a lot of protest and screaming heads on TV giving their views.
Why are soldiers called baby-killers when abortionists practice infanticide? Westerners are soooo strange.
