I would say it was shot on one of the british islands that got occupied by the Wehrmacht during the war. Canell-islands or what the name was...

Edit: Dammit Count, I'm getting old.

On the sign you can read: "Der Deutsche Kommandant der Britischen Kanal Inseln"

~ "German commander of british channel islands"

There are several Channel Islands (Jersey, Guernsey, Sark, Alderney, Herm) and they were all occupied by the Germans.
I believe that picture was taken in Guernsey.

Thanks for the bunkers - I had some fun in them as a kid!

I used to go there as a kid too, but my parents usually took me to the underground hospital .... What kid is gonna want to see a load of rusty old beds underground?

    Affirmative, Jersey 1940.

It was in a book I read. What is happening is the police are protecting the invaders from the civilians because they thought it was what they were supposed to do.

More like they were sh*tting themselves because they were unarmed and about as useful as a **** in a hen house. Oh and look...and they are still unarmed to this day. So anyone wanna invade...? You'll have their protection.

The Germans must've been having a right laugh at them...
