GREAT ****-ING SETS OF PICS!!!
Tells your view on how the Russians handled the theatre hostage situation in Moscow
I was wondering what kind of helmets, body armor, and camo are the croud control grunts or Ukrain soldiers use? THX really nice pic they look HollyWood!
Who's training in Crowd controle with assault rifles and grenade launchers????????????????????????????????????
Heheheh the crowd control pics, arent exactly what I meant. They are training for crowd contol in situations like Sarajevo, Kosovo, and stuff. From watching TV here in the US, I see Americans do the same croud contol in Iraq, they have M-16's.
About the Moscow theater situation. I believe that it could have been much much worst. I dont agree with the use of the damn gas, that was gay. But... if the building would have been blown up by those nazi chechens it would have been horrible. I dont know how much you guys saw of the force that surrounded the theater. It was around 800 OMON and ALFA guys. When Russia deals with a problem, they deal with it in force. Some of my friends back home said the numbers are more like 1100. So... Im just glad more people didnt die.
That's the only way to go when it comes down to crowd control!Originally Posted by Ichhabe

Sorry to be a armchair commando, but damn those pics of the Ukraine soldiers in crowd control are pretty horrible in terms of firearm saftey, and discipline for that matter (Many have their fingers on the trigger). I have much respect for many countrys Military's, but it would appear the conscript system just doesn't work too well for the Europeans, in some cases. That is, in terms of regular conventional units, most SOF units have considerably higher standards, no matter what country.
Why not "crowd-controle" like this? This is from Kosovo, and it is not training.

Nice Pic's. UkrainianSpetsnaz!
In the Crowd Control pictures, the guy with the American Woodland Camo and M16 - what's the deal with him; Is he some sort of renegade? All the other dudes seem to have Soviet Issue equipment.

Well there were about 30 Americans there supervising the training, the training took place in Kosovo. When you deal with a crowd that wants to kill you, you need to have your finger on the trigger.
And no that aint soviet issue uniforms. Ukraine has different uniforms sinse 1991.
Thank u Ichhabe - Very nice example of crowd control
Thank you He219. I hope I answered your question above. This was during a tarining exercise in Kosovo.
The pics of Berkut, are in Kiev, on a training ground. They train on taking over trains, subways, busses, taxis, and airplanes.
Cool pics man! Do you happen to have some Alfa or Vympel pics as well??
I think the operation with hostages was tragic, but I don't see what else could they do. I mean the theater was loaded with explosives, if some strong gas wasn't used ALL the hostages and the rescuers would die. I read somewhere that even SAS and other special operaion units considered the operation successful.
Great Pics PLZ post more.
Like Dmitri said anything on Alfa, Vympel, Spetsnaz, OMON or more on the Ukrainian troops that would be great.
Dennis
Well I would respectfully disagree. You NEVER put your finger on the trigger untill you are about to shoot, and your target is infront of the weapon. Unless these guys have a grudge against the sky.. I think perhaps they aren't the best trained in firearm saftey and trigger discipline. JMHO anyway..Originally Posted by UkrainianSpetsnaz
Got to agree with PiccoloThe former WarPact forces are going through a massive change to line up doctrinaly and standards wise with NATO. I've seen some very impresssive units on Ops/Ex with NATO now (Czech, Polish and Russian Para's in particular), but with others there's a fair way to go.Originally Posted by Piccolo
