Are M4/M16 magazines propriety depending on manufacturer? I have an AGM AEG and currently, the only mag I have for it is a hi-cap mag that came with the gun. Am I stuck with AGM mags, or can I purchase mags from other airsoft gun manufacturers and have them work without compatibility problems?

Does FPS really matter that much?

And finally, how long should I charge the battery? 10 hours? 15 hours?

I'm a newb, so TMs are still out of my budget.

most acm guns will take magazines which go for tm/ca guns. you should check if your gun is copy of tm or something else. but if your gun is only china made like the mp-40 or mp44 theres only agm mags.

Then it should take all m16/m4 series mags, you should ask the store just to make sure they fit.

Hey, im pretty new to airsoft. Ive paintballed before, but im thinking of switching. Right now the highest my budget will get is between $100 and $200, so the CA sportline series looks perfect, but i wanted a second oppinion. Does anyone have any experience with these guns? im looking for something that will hold up and not break on me. thanks

Thanks for the reply, CA seems like a respected airsoft company, is there a reason i should consider the guns in the links?

I think it's a matter of fanboyism that makes people stay with one brand. The links provide some examples of what you can purchase within your budget.

hjhof: jg m4 are much better, they have better internals, externals and one piece outer barrel.

alpharius: marui mp5k is good, but since cyma has released full metal version of it it might be atleast good to check some reviews whether its an good gun or not.

Seeing as AGM clones TM rifles, yes. You can use a majority of magazines out there meant for TM, you shouldn't have any compatibility problems.

Take the mAh written on the battery and divide it by the mA output of the charger. If your battery is a 8.4 1800 mAh battery and your chargers output is 600 mA then devide the two. Once you devide you will get the time in hours, in my example it would be 3 hours. 1800/600=3

To a degree yes, the higher the fps the more power you have. If you have more power then the BB can travel faster and stay in the air longer. Usually if you have a high fps rifle then you should go your BB's weight should increase too. (.2 -> .23/.25).
