It's a great idea to have a GBB, usually AEG's suck and break when you least expect it, so you'd have to quit for the day, but if you had a GBB you could keep going.

Alot less moving parts to break in a GBB.

OK Guys, what I am going to do, is write up a little article on tacgear itself first, because thats something Iam more at home with. Then I will continue on with AEG's , shops etc.Kind of like the one stop shop for newbs first hitting the airsoft board . I will incorperate all the info can find from here, and if you have amendments etc. please PM them to me and can update the text then.

I will have the posts after the beginnin post removed, so we can have some flow of clarity.

    How does that sound ?

Although still post your experiences with gear and aeg's in here in the meantime, so I can accumulate a broader spectrum of opinion.

Sounds like a good idea. One post with all the info incorporated.

I have to speak up about the SRC guns - we had a new kid come out to one of our open games with a brand new, never fired SRC rifle. It failed to function right out of the box, so a team of our experienced (we do repair work for WargameClub and other retailers) 'smiths went to work on it.

After 2 hours it was determined that the parts were so far out of alignment and spec that the gun was essentially unrepairable.

Someone said try throwing your TM onto the driveway and see what happens - I wonder if they had tried playing a game with the SRC? I wouldn't use one to prop open the hood of my car.

oh yeah, i've been hearing a lot of bad reviews about SRC.

one question, do you replace the plastic bushing into metal one before using a brand new aeg?

i've been a loyal TM user eversince i learned the game.

Save money? Star and MAG magazines are made of plastic, but feeds just fine. Star takes 30rds and MAG takes 100rds. I think the MAG ones are about 5 bucks if you buy a pack. Maby not the coolest magazines, but their cheap, and good for someone that just started...

What I believe is being asked for here is good advice for new players - I would suggest offering choices that are reliable out-of-the-box, and don't require difficult "fixes" and tweaks to get baseline performance.

Cheap is not cheap if you waste your money on something that doesn't work, then eventually replace it with a quality product.

I'm lookin at getting an ICS M4A1 pretty soon from evike.com. i have a friend who just got an ICS mp5sd5. i need to outdo him in range. both guns have the same internals. so i am planning on getting a spring upgrade when i order my gun. i was look at gettin a matrix M100 spring. i have heard that ICS guns do not upgrade very well. will this work with the stock gun and the battery that comes with it at evike.com?

hi, replace the motor of your ICS into a TM motor. replace the plastic bushing and put a systema metal bushing and you're ready to install your M100 spring.

would it work with just the spring? im kinda on a low budget. i might be able to do the bushings, but not the motor.
Edit: the stock bushings are copper.

yes, you can just replace it with just the spring only. i'm sorry, i just mentioned the TM motor because its more durable than ICS.

I dont play airsoft, but I played around with the idea. Is there such thing as a mostly full metal body AK-47 that battery operated, fairly cheap (under 200)?

    Oh and-
In airsoft are the grenades, are there nades'?, well are they just simulated grenades that just project smoke?

No chance in hell. But I do think if you get a low priced full metal AK47 kit and a UTG AK47, it'll run you maybe anywhere from $190-$230.
