    Ok, I need to know-

1.) Whats the real difference (besides the obviouse) between electric/gas/spring airsoft guns.
2.) Can airsoft guns be moded as easily as paintball guns?
3.) In Airsoft, do you get what you pay for? I mean I would like a decent gun. but a low price.
3.) Whats a good, "sniper rifle" thats cheap/isnt all plastic, and not a m16/m4/m14 style weapon. <--thats what I see alot of in airsoft rifles.
4.) are sights or scopes more tactical or practical in airsoft for the "sniper folk".

*The reason I want a good sniper type rifle is b/c I walk with a limp, and cant move as fast or get up and go as quick. so I need some thing a can rely on for good fire power and can keep heads down. I also have to use the art of camofluage to help me conceal my position as to not have to get up and retreat-oh, I mean stratigically reposition.

Lets help a kid or adult for that matter save a buck.
PLease dont come along with, I want a Special forces/USMC/Para outfit, tell me what I need. There is more than enough sites to look and find that out.
At the same time, be realistic. You will not likely get a loadout for 10$,that carries 10 mags, a hydro carrier , a pmr etc... without having committed a crime to get it.

The first invesment is always good eye protection.
I also beg every noob to carry a FAK ( first aid kit) with them. You never know when you and your trusty first aid class might help.

Here is a example of a request

Hi Im Johniffer. I am gonna play airsoft, and Im looking to pick up a AR type AEG.I wanna carry about 6-10 mags, a canteen or two and a PMR.I have about XX$ to spend.

Ok here's what I want as a load out

    1. USMC Marpat ILBE
    2. 1 caneen
    3. Body armor
    4. M14 AEG & .45
    5.Assault vest (6 clips)

I already have issue cammies, boots, pistol rig for a .45, boonie hat, issue boots and issue gortex

I also would like to know the attributes that set a Classic Army or Tokyo Mauri apart from a $50 gun

Are you going to wear body armour for the fun of it ?
Since you wont need ballistic protection, I would leave it out.Unless you are strictly going after a reenactment thing.

Are you looking for quality gear, or as cheap as possible ?
Would you consider grabbing a hydro reservoir ?
A reservoir is simply much more versatile than a canteen.

better quality, better performance, and it won't break after a week of use.

If you want an M14, go Tokyo Marui--I have one and it has never let me down.

As for starter guns, I started with a Marui AUG SR--now I wish I had waited for the CA AUG. . . o well, one more gun to add to my list.

    1) electric guns are more SMGs and ARs, gas guns are usually pistols, with a few SMG's and grenade launchers, spring guns are sniper rifles, and cheap stuff for backyard wars

    2) I've never played paintball, so I don't really know

    3) really, you can turn any AR into a sniper rifle--the AUG is good because it has short length but really long barrel--Tokyo Marui's SR version has an optics rail, and Classic Army's has a 1.5x integrated scope. The AUG has alot of plastic, but so does the real thing (polymer actually). The G36 series of guns could make good sniper rifles as well, but again, they have alot of plastic in them. The G36C is short, and has an optics rail for a scope, and the G36K, G36, and MG36 have an integrated scope (not sure what magnification). For a sniper-type G36, I would get a Classic Army G36 and then add a MG36 bipod. Tokyo Marui's G3SG1 makes an excellent sniper rifle as well, and Classic Army is supposedly releasing one of its own this summer.

    How about this:

    Non Upgraded TM Ak47
    BB's
    Silicon Lube
    Woodland Camo
    Hi Cap

Cant get any more cheap then that, only way you could is if you made your own camo.....

As far as AEGs go, the choice is pretty wide spread for a noobs. TM, CA, ICS, G&G; all the major manufactures are built to go from stock. All I'd say is stay away from G&P if you don't know your way round a gearbox.

If you're going to buy a redot or scope, for god sake zero it or I’ll come round your house and kill you while you sleep! A few times I've seen people just put a redot on their weapon, and asked is that zero'd, only to hear; 'no!' or 'ehh?' as the reply.

You don't need to coat your entire AEG is Silicone lube after every skirmish. Just clean out the barrel every few months.

Use quality ammo, but remember even quality brands can have bad batches.

There are loads more hot tips regarding kit, but those are the main ones to remember as far as AEGs are concerned.

Here is a pretty good set for a begginer.
    -TM AK47
    -2x TM 70bb clips for it(NO HICAPS! I HATE THEM )
    -Woodland camo
    -Some cheap boots
    This shouldnt cost too much.

That's a bit specific isn't it! 210 rounds isn't enough really mate, I've let more than that off in one burst. Lowcaps are only really worth while in lowcap only game, in hicap games you'll get creamed. Also you forgot battery, charger, eyeprotection.

It's a bit pointless naming individual loadouts a newbie could get, better just stick to giving advice on gear and guns.

Ye, forgot em. Hicaps take the fun out of the game. Think about it, you have 5 600bb hicap clips. You never need to reload, or anything like that. You can just hold the trigget. Thats not fun is it? I have 6 70bb clips, and thats enough for me. In Finland, most of the airsofters have a great dislike of hicaps also.

I like hicap and lowcaps and use both. However I use lowcaps in lowcap only games, and hicaps if you can use either, otherwise you're at a serious disadvantage. Sure; it's not realistic, but it's just a bit of fun, I personally I enjoy hicap games more than lowcap games.

Cheap is not cheap if you waste your money on something that doesn't work, then eventually replace it with a quality product.
how true. one thing i can really recommend to anyone who's just started playing airsoft and intends to upgrade his gear (over time) is:

    - don't go for cheap offers wherever you can and build up on a whole bunch of stuff that doesn't mix and match (there is no point in having 2 pistol holsters but nothing for your mags). in the end you'll just have a ton of equipment that you spent a ton of money on but somehow you won't have any use for it (believe me... personal experience)
    - so don't go for cheap stuff if you're gonna buy the good stuff later anyway. make a list of all the things you want to have, when your gear is complete (it will look expensive. it will be expensive. but it will be what you want, when you've got it and you won't have spent any money on stuff you didn't need > no waste. remember: you aren't buying it all at once )
    - when you have you're list just start buying the things you need, one at a time.

also stupid: you get your AEG and have 4 hi caps and buy a mag pouch for your belt that holds for mags because you don't need more. sooner or later you're gonna switch to better mags and a vest and you'll be stuck with 4 hi caps and a pouch for 200$ you don't need anymore.

for some strange reason i stick with, err, stealthy manner of game behavior.
and hicaps is absolutely no-no. cause they produce a lot of sound when you run, and after crawling ~20 meters in our subtropic forest you can easily got 'em jammed. in our forests average engage distance = 5-10 meters, so, detected=taken off, and hi-caps helps with detection a lot.
