ADL Reports Resurgence of Racist Skinheads in U.S. and Launches New Online Racist Skinhead Project
New York, NY, February 7, 2006 … The United States has seen a "significant and troubling" resurgence of racist skinhead activity, with a rise in the number of organized racist skinhead groups as well as a rise in the number of unaffiliated racist skinheads, according to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).
In a new report issued today, ADL warns that racist skinhead activity in the U.S. is rising, with active groups or individuals identifying themselves as racist skinheads in nearly all states in the country.
The League has launched an online Racist Skinhead Project at www.adl.org/racist_skinheads, which tracks activity by state and region, while noting that the substantial increase in the number of active racist skinheads in the U.S. has accompanied a rise in violent hate crimes carried out by racist skinheads against Jews, African-Americans, Hispanics, gays and lesbians, and immigrants.

Aye, to be expected. These groups always grow when certain other groups start pulling shit *COUGH*Radical Muslims*COUGH*. However, both groups should be dealt with the exact same way. Too bad the Army can't do jack within our borders, short of an invasion.
I have not seen a skinhead in the West of Scotland for ages but then again we have our own little hate groups who oddly enough fly the Star of David along with the Union Jack and Saltire from the flagpole outside their homes.
Shinheads, Neo-nazis and the Klan are domestic terrorist and they should be treated as such. They blame anything and everything on jews and minorities, they love to use their constitutional rights to spread their hate and ignorance but yet they wouldn't hesitate to deny others their rights. The extreme right in the US is incredibly diverse, there are particular sections of it that are not so dumb but just hateful and very self assured in their beliefs. Anyone who thinks groups or individuals with racist views/agendas/messages shouldn't be tolerated because people should be tolerant of everyone ignores the fact that what they really mean is that we should be tolerant of what we agree with. A group or person who's message is "blacks are inferior!" or "jews are evil!" or "the white man is the devil!" or whatever should have just as much right to spout their stupidity as the people who's message is "all people are equal", especially since their real message is "all people who agree with me are equal, and if you disagree you're a racist animal."
Crossing the line of actually doing something based on ANY belief that would hurt someone, however, is a crime and should be punished severely, just like any crime. The greenpeace/democrat/liberal/hippy moron who, for example, punches a skinhead because he's a racist should be prosecuted just as much as kkk member that punches a (insert your favorite racial slur here) because he's a whatever he is.

Joe, the thing is we or atleast I, want them dealth with not because of what they say but rather because of the violent and terrorist acts that they perpetrate.

I think it was just time for these folks to speak up as to not be lost in the shuffle. I havent seen or heard of any increase in skinhead activity as a whole. The skinhead and Neo Nazis will never be "significant" or "troubling" really. Every once and a great while somebody will be stomped into a hospital bed but thats about it.
If they were ever going to get organized and pose any real threat they would have long ago. I was expecting to see an increase or a renewed vigor in some respects after 9/11 but nothing happened. They are underground and powerless.
People might not like the fact that, in all reality very small group of people, dont like them but they are harmless really.
interesting.over the last 3-4 yrs or so i've read a few articles that have shown these supremecist groups sharing ideology and such with radical muslims.The enemy of my enemy is my friend seems to be the popular theme as of late,since to a degree both groups share common enemies(i.e blacks,jews,hippy liberals,corporate capitalists etc)it's just that if the time came that their goals are met,you'd see a really bad case of backstabbing take place.
I have NO problem at all with anyone, of any ideology, including none, who perpetrates a crime or terrorist act being hunted down and punished. I do, however, have a HUGE problem with the idea that anyone's opinion, even stupid racist opinions, cannot be tolerated. Freedom of speech/expression isn't freedom if it's only freedom to say things that don't offend anyone and/or are popular. Liberals trying to say you can't say "blacks are inferior" or "jews are evil" is JUST as bad as conservatives trying to say you can't say "Bush is evil" or "the Iraq war is unjust" because you'd be failing to support the president during a war.
Stupid people are just as entitled to their opinions as smart people. That doesn't mean for a second that the instant they cross the line from having/expressing their opinions to actually hurting or trying to hurt someone they shouldn't be prosecuted.
Nazi Skinheads are a joke...Half of them act like thug rappers and the other half cant spell their name or are closet homos....however a large number of these types congress within the US (so called) Unorginized Militias and are just as dumb as thier semi-auto rifles can shoot fast.......I wouldnt turn my back on em..
agreed there is too much double standard here.
