clearly none of us are really good, but as long as we're having fun it doesn't matter. I think another poetry thread would be fine if you want to start one. In fact, I think that would be cool.

According to my trusty American Heritage dictionary.

hai•ku An unrhymed Japanese poem having three lines of five, seven, and five syllables

syl•la•ble 1. A unit of spoken language consisting of a single uninterrupted sound forming a word, such as wit, or part of a word, such as per- in person. 2. One or more letters or phonetic symbols representing a spoken syllable.


Let me see if I understand correctly, this means that there is 2 syllables in haiku and three in syllable, am I correct.
