After the Battle of Cer (The first major Allied victory in the war) the Austro-Hungarians, Germans and Bulgarians attacked the little Kingdom of Serbia which resulted in the now epic and folkloric exodus of the Serbian Army and People across the mountains of Albania down to Greece and Corfu. Eventually the Kingdom of Serbia would lose over %58 of its Army and a total of around 1,100,000 Serbs would perish something close to %57 of the countries total pre-war population, the most out of any Allied country.
About the Austro-Hungarian war crimes in 1914 one of the leading forensic scientists of the era, Dr.Archibald Reiss, a German, came to Serbia in 1914 and began conducting a very thorough and in depth investigation about the Austro-Hungarian atrocities against Serbian peasants. He ended up going with the Serbs on the exodus and later joined the Serbian Army himself. In fact a week or so ago he was commemorated in Belgrade.
BTW, Great pics keep it up!
