I'll go. I didn't pass the RNLMC tests this year, so I gotta go and keep the spirit alive. Seeing those ships and the Marines at the RNLMC section just keeps me going

So far I've seen four kinds of tank helmets being used.

    Number 1.

    Number 2.

Number 3. I have the feeling this might be the same helmet as number 1 or 2, but with the hard cover removed.

    Number 4.

Yes they're the same as the American Helmets.

But i found this in the newspaper today.

    Bad translated into english.

Quest Jan Willem Kelder was satisfied that the dutch navy will receive 4 new ocean patrol vessels with a NH90 Helicopter. These are ships with a lengt of 100 meter and will be deployed Humantaire disasters, piracy and drugs controles. The Marine Corps will get up to 300 - 400 new troops. Even since negative news there was proved. The naval forces are still alive!
The question: How does this guy already knows we'll buy 4 patrol vessels like these. Without mentioning the M-Frigates that should be sold, and without any official news?

Pic of the possible patrol boat class.

It looks like KCT skills for maritime ops are growing. It's good policy i think; not too many countries train their army (land forces) SOF units to conduct maritime operations.

yeah the one in the front is cool but it'll most likely be the one in the back, 2 M frigates have been sold to Chile and 2 to Belgium it's a done deal so instead of the navy is alive my conclusion would be the navy is dying

but 300 to 400 extra marines is great, maybe they finally wised up and decided to go for that third operational infantry battallion

that would be great, move them back to Rotterdam and off the Antilles (station the Marechaussee there instead) so they can be deployed overseas, take some of the pressure of the other operational battallions.

though knowing our politicians it'll probably just mean more and bigger deployments

I think I read somewhere that the OPV's will have a crew below 50?
Guess we'll have to wait on what kind of new government we get to know this

Yea but anyway i think that this is the correct way - to keep the SOF unit full spectrum of ops capable. Even if the land forces SOF unit won't have many opportunites to conduct maritime ops.
