Does anyone know how many Leopards 2A6's we have, and how many of those are operational?

Around 180 I believe, but that number could be from a few years back. Don't know how many are operational.

    Edit:
lol I see why you asked, 180 is the number of A4/5s that were upgraded to A6 standard in the mid nineties.

It's back padding, it goes in the back of the rucksack (there should be a compartment there).

That's right, it should be placed inside the rucksack, to provide some comfort.

When i am not correct the Dutch army will have only 110 Leopard A6 in the near future.
There are two tanksbatallions of each 3 tankeskadrons (14 tanks each). That means 84 operational tanks. The rest is in reserve or used for training purposes.

It's already been posted before in this thread or the RNLMC one, I believe.

PS Yep every one is right on that backpanel question.
it's more comfort but the problem is the design of the pack.
it's made to wear above webbing (above the e-tool) , so the
shoulderstraps arestiched from the middle of the packpanel.
this should be higher now you carry most of the pack on you
shoulders/neck and not on your lowerbody.
Also the lack of snow wet wetter coller on top of the maincompartment
is bad, without drysacks everything get wet. You should better buy a
Berghaus Munor or just the daypacks. A good alternative is the snugpak
for 50 euro you get alot
so true. The pack is a bitch to carry with a full (25 to 30kg) load. The newly introduced Lowe grabpacks would be an ideal replacement for this pack. A hip belt is a real plus when you want to carry such a load for a few days with more comfort. This small packs lacks the hipband.

The pack is also difficult to combine with a kevlar helmet and a ****e position. When you wear the pack high on your shoulders as it is designed to be, you won't be able to look forward or effectively aim your rifle when in ****e position, since your helmet bumps into the backpack. Very irritating designflaw. When you try to wear the pack lower on your back you'll find that the design of the shoulderstraps is not really suited for this. The british light partolpack which is very simular in size is a much better option IMO.

UIM sounds too much like 'ui' and it reminds me of 'uierzalf' every time I hear it (for some odd reason).
