    Royal Netherlands Army Ground-based Air Defence System.

    The first live fire exercise at the Norwegian peninsula Andøya!

    The nearly 4-metre-long Amraam missile reaches a speed of almost 5 000 km/h

    The Amraam-air to air missile was originally designed as a air-to-air missile, For fighter aircraft to shoot down enemy aircraft.
    Today, the missile is also fired from the ground.

    These fully mobile systems are based on the AIM-120 AMRAAM, and will protect Dutch forces against aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.

    • command shelters on YAS-4442 vehicles;

    No, Fennek-Stinger replaces the Cheeta (PRTL/Gepard). NASAMS fills in the capability between the Fennek and the Patriot. Both the Fennek and the NASAMS are Army, the Patriot is Air force. Together they form the Joint Air Defence Command, a layered system of systems.

    Yeah, but AFAIK it was not replaced until now (as tercio67 mentioned, NASAMS fills in the capability gap between the Fennek (Stinger) and the Patriot that was left by the retirement of the Hawk).

    So it is replacing the Hawk, just not a case of replacement in the sense that you are working with the new system after having been switched over from the previous system that you were using the "day" before.

    Well that makes it more acceptable for me. I didn't know it would be 600 mln over four years. Although it's obvious because they will reign our country for the next four years. I wasn't thinking about previously, but thanks for correcting me. You made my day! I knew about the JSF project. I'm glad they will continue it. Unfortunately 87% of the Dutch people disagree with this decision. But it doesn't matter, because once this new goverment will be installed they wouldn't cancel this project.
