    21year old corporal Ronald Groen died due to an IED. He was driving in a Fennek near FOB Poentjak.
    2 others injured.

    Dammit.

    DUTCH SOLDIER KILLED
    During the operation “Spin Ghar” in Afghanistan the 21 year old corporal Ronald Groen was killed. The armoured Fennek - reconnaiscance vehicle he was riding hit an IED (improvised explosive device) about five kilometers northwest of the patrolbase Poentjak.

    During this attack a wachtmeester* and a corporal were wounded. Their condition is stabile. They are being treated in the Role 2 hospital at Kamp Holland.

    The soldiers, all men, belong to the 43 mechanised brigade, stationed at the Johannes Post Kazerne the Havelte. The family of the deceased soldier has allready been informed.

    * Wachtmeester is a rank in the Dutch military (cavalry) but I don't know how to translate it

    No they were from an OMLT, marines or army officers.
    The guy on the right is probably RNLMC. C8 and BBE chestrig, plus US woodland helmet cover....
