I agree, I still vote for Dingo 2 (or that new one from Iveco the Brits are getting)

but but but I said they will be going!
Hadn't thought of the artillery observer role yet though, I totally forgot about it

truth be told though, I'm starting to get a bad feeling about this mission.
The keep expanding the unit with all kinds of stuff and it hasn't even started yet, I mean the Fenneks, the Howitzers, Apaches on the base, new mortar tracking systems and now UAV's and the list goes on

And it's not that this stuff they keep adding is stupid or anything that's so strange about it, it all makes sense ... makes me wonder why the defence ministry is only thinking about it at the last minute

I hope they are just overreacting to the bad press but I don't know

safe to say that the whole reconstruction thing they were so big on has been put on the backburner though ... It's clobbering time!

Great pics. However, what I have noticed from the earlier pics is that camouflage paint is often poorly applied, with mediocre results. Often the face has a nice egg shaped green area. The ears, back and front of the neck, lower neck is often overlooked. Not to mention the hands. Basic structure such as diagonal lines over the eyes to break up the levelness of the white patches is not seen. Nor are the rules applied for natural shiny areas: top of nose, cheek bones, under the eyes. Basic buddy buddy stuff IMHO.

Now I’m not sucking this out of my thumb either. I’ve met a Australian soldier who was the best ever camouflage and concealment instructor I have ever had the pleasure to meet! Would I say it to the guys in question if I'd meet them?... Yes... very politely

no need to sugar coat it, they're Dutch we sugar coat nothing, not even our donuts (don't ever buy a donut in the Netherlands)!!

they'll say 'O yeah ... well you're Brittish drive on the wrong side of the road so there!!!' then they'll wander off and start flipping through their soldiers manual

i love comments like this you look at threads of people drawing nice camo pics on their faces very nice but after 2 weeks in the field as long as there is plenty on who gives a fack!

some effort should be put into your ears at least, buddy buddy in face cam in the british army is about 10 years old mate as we get a nice mirror in your cam cream now.

as for putting grass in your helmet and webbing and changing before each enviroment----cheers thing of the past, ambushes yes defence yes everything else load of crap.

example-at brecon put some mud over your parachute wings people might see them....me thinks if they are that close im in big enough shat than to worry about that!

besides painting your face isn't going to do a whole lot to conceal yourself when driving woodland coloured vehicles through the desert

I know but it's still a rather capable vehicle in said role and I don't want to see the Gwagons or Land Rovers being replaced by it but rather I want it to supplement them.

I'd still vote for Dingo2 though

    LOL, good one.

2 weeks in the field, armoured corps or not, do something do it properly*: dump three fingers in the box and drag from top left ear to bottom right. Touch up on a few places and you're good to go.

    Cheers guys.

*edit: basically avoid the dark egg shape and you wont look like a new, 13 year old, army cadet
