Uhh .. to replace al weapons with the new modifications is going to take 4 years! There are a lot of units who are not issued with the new colt yet.
We are also running quit out of money, as you might know yourself .. so will see when al weapons are replaced. I remember a case with ops vesten, first only KCT and LMB, the rest of the Army will follow soon .. years later, there will still infantry walking out there with no ops vest! Same story with the CV90. The replacement of the YPR is on hold.

How are you by the way? Still in the race for the red baret?

I think he's referring to LMB only. 13th Mechbrig was first, LMB second and 43rd will be next. But as you said delivery of the new weapons is constantly being postponed.

hell, they can't even provide the new guys with boots and trousers. So I won't be suprised if the new weapons will take a few years to be completed. And the sad thing is that this update of the Diemaco is only meant to extend the life of the current weapons until other weapons are to be bought. But I'm afraid we will use these guns until we run completely out of spare parts

    Frost,

I cant agree more! Its realy sad when you see those AMO guy's walking around. Old boots, no jackets .. they look like some airsoft amateurs!
For months i have done several attempts to get a new tankoverall .. there is none in my size, i am a tanker who cant get a overall? It still pisses me off!!
And its not only with my overall but my boots, trousers, jackets, barets de landsvoorraad is 0 op alles! (The international supplies are zero!)

But since we have left afghanistan, things may get a little bit better! No mission , meens more money, more money equals more stuff! Lets hope they some new Leopards, or at least give our vehicles the proper updates they need

No mission means less money. The last few years there was always pressure on the cabinet to give the MoD more money because they had a mission to run. Without that pressure there will be all the more reason to cut the budget even further. Also because we've been undermanned the last few years, the army could shift money from the personnell budget (calculated for a fully manned army) to buy spare parts, fuel, ammunitions etc. Now that we're almost fully manned that is not going to be possible anymore.
And new Leopards? I would think they would scrap the tank batallions before they will buy new ones. Unfortunately for you guys you can't defend your existence by saying: "Look what we did in Afghanistan". Every time a tanker went to Afghanistan he left his tank behind.....

What's your size? For some reason I still can't grasp, I was issued two when I went to the Balkans as an observer. Back then, and now as navy-reserve even more, I have no use for them at all.

So, let's stop complaining and pitch up some of that can-do mentality! If you're interested, PM me and we'll see if the military post is still better than TNT
