The Bitish adopted the bullpup SA80 after a long history of classic rifle designs. Never say never dude.
Plus, he did state that the first one was only a concept design, to see if the mechanizm and overall idea is worth going foreward.

    EDIT:

Is there any good reason for reinventing the wheel? Polish engineers drew the inspiration from many modern constructions - including the ones you've mentioned.

Every military forces, that use bull pup system nowadays, was in the situation once, that it had never been using that system before.

The British almost adopted a Bullpup design, the EM-2, before selecting the FN FAL in the late forties, early fifties. The new rifle fired a new caliber bullet, .280 I think, and the USA didnīt want to change the recently adopted NATO standar caliber, 7,62x51mm. When the British tried to adapt the EM-2 to the 7,62NATO they discovered that the rifle couldnīt resist the more powerful cartridge, and then they choosed the FAL.

It was designed by Stefan Kenneth Janson - and that was an assumed name of the Polish firearm designer Captain Kazimierz J****zewski...
