    Canadian soldiers evacuate injured personnel after their Light Armoured Vehicle (LAV III) turret was struck by on coming vehicle, outside of Kandahar City. The incident wounded two Canadian soldiers.

    Pte Bishal Gurung a British soldier, is one of the members assigned to monitor the Observation Post 2 (OP2). The OP’s are the first line of defense where, the Protection Force must conduct a thorough search of all non Coalition Force vehicles prior to entering the Camp for any possible threats.

    TORKHEM BORDER, Afghanistan (March 25, 2006) - Marines set security for police investigators at the site of an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion close to the Afghanistan-Pakistan border control station at Torkhem, Afghanistan.






    A joint Canadian-Romanian convoy was attacked by a suicide car bomber while delivering supplies to a remote outpost in Gumbad, approximately 70 km North of Kandahar City. Once the convoy was moved to a secure location, the injured Canadian was medivac to Role 3 hospital in Kandahar Airfield. The soldier suffered only minor injuries.

    Cpl Lester Budden is watching for security threats while his convoy takes a short break after returning from Gumbad, Afghanistan, bomber approximately 70 km north of Kandahar City. The Canadian and Romanian convoy was attacked on route to Gumbad by a suicide car bomber. The car bomber died in the explosion. The attack wounded a Canadian soldier and six Afghan civilians, including a boy who later died.

    Pte Mike Mleinek is one of the members assigned to monitor the Observation Post 2 (OP2). The OP is the first line of defense where, the Protection Force must conduct a thorough search of all non Coalition Force vehicles prior to entering the Camp for any possible threats.

    The Romanian and Canadian Forces are taking part in a joint patrol in the small village of Gang Kalachah south east of Kandahar city. The Romanian soldiers provided security and dental care while the Canadian soldiers provided medical care.

    Captain Louise Lesley is taking cover in an emergency bunker after three explosions, apparently caused by rockets, rattled the main coalition airbase that is home to Canadian troops in Kandahar early Friday. No one was injured in the attack, which took place at around 0300 am local time. It was second nighttime attack on the base this week.

    Medical staff at the Canadian led multinational hospital at Kandahar Airfield is providing medical care to an injured Afghan National Army soldier who received a gunshot wound during a clash with the Taliban.     A flight of CU-161 Sperwer, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), began keeping watch over South Afghanistan, 9 March 2006. The Sperwer is sent deep into hostile territory where it would be extremely dangerous to send a helicopter. The Canadian artillery also fly the plane from a mobile ground control station and operate the Sperwer’s high-tech camera, side-by-side with 408 Tactical helicopter Squadron’s pilots.

    We have a few variants of the LAV-25 chassis.

    We have 203 of the Coyote which is a recce vehicle.
    74 Bison Ambulances
    60 Bison Mortar Vehicles
    35 Bison Recovery Vehicles
    16 Bison Mobile Repair Team Vehicles
    14 Bison Electronic Warfare Vehicles

    Not that I am being anal.. but I think you should give credit to the photographers who took the time to take those pictures.. or at least mention the Combat Camera site when you post stuff from it, unless that's not how it works here. It would be appreciated by those who do that for a living I am sure.

    We do not have LAV-25's in the Canadian military but we do have the Coyote and Bison as explained by Reservoir Hogs. The Coyote is similar in appearance to the American LAV-25, but you cannot compare the two since both are employed in a completely different role.

    If you are asking about the vehicles that have the 25mm chain gun, we have both the Coyote and LAV III vehicles.

    PS: This is not an advertised arena, therefore no need to mention the pics are from Combat Camera. There is enough advertisements in our world today without having to look at even more, be it signs or words.

    What unit are these guys from? Are they infantry or are they from the unit of which we do not speak?

    They aren't JTF if thats what you mean. Yes they are infantry.

    Okay, no need to credit "Combat Camera".. but credit the photogs at least? They did take the time to get the pics for us? I don't know.. maybe because I know a few I feel that they deserve the recognition.
