    Default Identify these Sabras.

    "Turkish M60 Sabras" ~from Tanknet.

How many you agree that the Sabra shown is not Israeli nor is it Turkish?

Agree. There is a commander’s capsule that is included in the original American M-60's but is not included in the Sabra, nor the Israeli M-60's.

Bingo partially! The IDF originally had the capsule, but removed it later in service on the 60's. Plus it lacks the extra MG's on turret that is peculiar of IDF tanks.

And if I remember the IDF troopers go f*cking nuts with overloaded stowage on the racks.

Well it looks like its at a tank trials facility, no operational. It might not have the normal stowage and turret toys other Israeli vehicles have. I'm guessing it's a Turkish M60A3 sent to Israel for prototyping as a Sabra rebuild. IIRC the Israelis only had M60A1s, not A3s.

You are right. That's the first modernised tank. And it's in Kayseri for trials. 2 more pictures of it. (these pictures has been taken in Israel, as I know. There are older.)

Yes I confirm that these are the first Turkish M-60s modernized in Israel and brought back to Turkey for trials. The commanders' cupola was preserved upon the request of the TR army.

KCX, may I ask you where did you find this particular pic? Thanks.

managed to dig up this old thread..due to some discussions in another forum that I'm in.. haha.

Is there a reason why the cupolas are retained?
