I've been thinking about getting some new protection for my eyes and face (teeth at least). What is the best options out there?
I am a "hot" person. I sweat quite much. I also tend to fog up more than the average.
I don't want no paintball mask
It should be medium priced.
I've looked at a combination of bollé or ESS glasses, and a neoprene mask or a shemag. A littlebit pain in my face wouldn't kill me, but I don't want my teeth knocked out. Thought about balaclava and teeth protector, but wouldn't that make it harder to talk. I also want the ability to fit a mic under it...
So the question is: What face protection, and what pair of glasses (super anti-fog, and good, clear view.)
http://www.airsoftscotland.com/acata...rotection.html some options, i recommend the good old sansei masks, no fogging (mesh) and full protectiong, only problem is getting a cheek weld on your weapon, but that doesnt matter so much with airsoft.
If you sweat alot, you shouldn't get anything on your face. It makes you glasses fog really bad. And i have heard that neopreene masks are very uncomfortable, hot, ugly and hard to speak.
I would go with bolle tactical classes if you dont want to use yur sansei anymore. I now they are ugly and looking noob, but they ARE simpliest the best prtoecton to people like you (hot). With bolle you may need teeth protector because you cant use shemag.
Bolle x500 have double lenses so it's more fogfree. x800 keep clear only if you move alot. Both are good glasses. In my use x800 gets fog only when weather is hot and wet.
I have to say I've used a fair number of goggles (ESS land ops, Provile NVG; Wiley-X CQB, Nerve; some weird Oakley's) and all of them fogged for me to some extent. I recently got some Bolle T-800s, and must say I didn't have any major issues, and it was definitely one of the hotter and more humid days I've been out.
I personally also use a shemagh, and really swear by them. It's a LOT lighter than balaclavas, and is a lot more comfortable as it's so lose. It also lets you really set it up how you want it; lose or tight, covering your whole head to just your neck, etc. I don't know what kind of mic you're mentioning, but it's loose enough to speak clearly through, and I know people who use it with boom and throat mikes.
if you live in the U.S., order from www.safetyglassesusa.com Lightning shipping and I think it's free for over 50$ orders.
I use ESS (Tact. Thermal Speedclip) and thety work great for me, no fogging yet. I'll see what florida's summer humidity does to em.
The high profile isn't really a big deal, especially if you have a helmet with em.
A nifty thing with the Tact Therm SC goggles is that they have velcro squares on the inside of the elastic band, and comes with 3 3m backed squares to place on your helmet, that way it won't slip off or anything.
They also have a thermal lense in them
