Air strikes? Who's talking about air strikes? The currently only will introduce one F2000 with 40mm grenade launcher for every section. As far as I know there are no plans toe replace the FNC in the near future.

Hello Belgium friends! I have a question about the FN2000. It seems that it's now issued into the Belgium army. I read an articel in a Dutch weapon magazine, written by a Belgium soldier, about the FN2000. He wasn't quitely positive about it. Are there any of you who fired it, and used it in the field? I think it's a wonderful design (what else can you aspect from the weapons made by Fabrique Nationale!!!!, I used the FAL and the MAG in the Army, and they where awesome weapons!)
It seems that it jams with blank ammo (The Belgium army don't use FN ammo anymore?!), and that the special forces don't like the FN2000.
    Is this thrue?

    Greets,

    Dutchman

Bevr/5Li are issued one F2000 per section(or 2, correct me if i'm wrong). i've seen them hitting the ranges with this in Grafenwöhr and it seemed they worked really fine. The SF are using them in general and in Tchad, and there are some rumours that they don't like it. But i never pay attention to rumours, so i first want to experience it myself.
The firing instructors( NTGS monitoren) are qualified with the F2000 and in general they are satisfied with it.
99% of the belgian army still uses FNC and in my opinion its a great weapon so most of us aren't really looking forward too a replacement.

It's better to be safe than sorry IMO.

The SF.260M's were indeed purchased some 40 years ago but were several times upgraded (SF.260M+ with new wings and avionics, a new cockpit is planned). The SF.260D's arrived only in 1992.

Or is it for camo puposes?
The taliban look upon shooting wounded people as a bonus thing, hence better not make those vehicles more of an RPG magnet than they already are.

    I Fired the F2000.
It's a good weapon. Perfectly balanced and when it's jammed, it can be fixed in no time.

Really? The jamming issue is actually the one complaint I've heard from people about the F2000. That when it jams, you have to disassemble the gun to clear the jam. Don't know if thats true, but thats a complaints I've come across several times.

hat's what training is for. I find the F2OOO also a good weapon. And the jamming, it's a bit of training but the rifle is quite easy to disassemble once you know it.

it's just one button you press, then slide it open and shake it.
takes me about 5 seconds. FNC takes me 6 to 8 seconds.

(not to brag about it, just to show that the jamming issue is not a big problem)
