The bumps are likely because you are laying on the paint too thickly. With paints, its better to do two or three very thin coats than one thick coat. You want the paint to be about the same consistency as milk. I've rarely had to dilute enamels in the past, but you can get dilutors for them, if (for example) you want to use them in an airbrush.

Academy paint sets?... I'm afraid you just got yourself twenty four testors bottles. These are basic enamel colors that are okay for small stuff like signal lights, leather belts, cockpit detail etc, but they are not well suited to paint base camouflage coats. The pigment is often to coarse or chunky to just use as is when airbrushing or using good ole brush. They also have sharp, unpleasant smell and take up to 24 hours to dry. Since you got them already, you can thin them with turpentine or white spirit or whatever local hardware stores sell as mineral enamel thinner.
When you run out of these, I would like you to try Gunze Sangyo's water based acrylic paints, they've got amazing adhesive and reflective properties. IMHO, at the moment this line of paints is the best hobby color in the world.

So regular turpentine is fine for thinning enamel?general hardware store turpentine?I remember putting some of it in a one time disposable thin-plastic cup and having it melt the plastic after 2 minutes
What ratio should it be thinned?

Here are the colors..are they really considered that low quality?well I guess its fine..my painting skills suck and I need to practice..

My next model order thats on the way includes the following:
    Airfix U-2 A/C/D 1/72
    Italeri U-2R Senior span 1/48
Revell Hawker Hunter FGA 9 1/72
    Revell Tiger 1 1/72
Italeri King Tiger[ESCI] together with german infantry 1/72

Paid allot for these U2s from Ebay since finding them in Israel is impossible..out of production kits + small country=bad..I really like that airplane and will probably have them hanging around my room..the 1/48 will be interesting since its a 70cm wingspan and 50cm fuselage.

If the paint is course or chunky, then it could be that you're not stirring it enough before using it. And yes, also use care when diluting enamels with turps. Test the results first on a spare piece of plastic from the kit you're working on and if it melts or turns sticky, that is a warning not to go any further.

As I said before, I have rarely needed to dilute enamels in the past, and when I did, it was always in a 1:10 or 1:20 ration (ie 1 part turps/thinner to 10-20 parts paint) - a little goes a long way.

What was the paint maker that created color "scale". I think the paints had a bit of white mixed in to give that "distant color" look, as colors aren't as vivid and sharp when viewed from a distance.

No manufacturer specializing in injected styrene make one.
There was one made by Atelier Infinite of Japan long time ago. It's a full resin kit so even if you find it for sale it going to cost you a pretty penny. They recently resumed casting of the Ausf D and hybrid Ausf D with B type turret, so Ausf A may be resumed as well sometime soon.

Building Trumpeterīs great kit of T-62 model 1962. Lots of awesome little details and accessories. Only thing is that you have to be pretty sharp with instructions, since it seems Trumpeter cant decide if im building the -62, -67, or -72 version of the model with mineroller equipment or not.
Also, looking for reference pictures is a pain in the ass, since all good photos seem to be of 1972 model or T-62M model

OK WRT brushing I did a test and applied 2 very thin coats of acrylic and there were no bumps..the first layer you could still see the plastic in some spots but the 2nd one gave it a good coat.
Now a new problem - In some areas I got brush marks from the brush..how do I avoid it in the future?
