Great pictures from a great army !

The more I learn about the finnish army the more I like it ! You guys seem to be a tough bunch with good stuff. I also watched the movie "the winter war" to understand your military culture better.

And the next gun I really want to try is the finnish AK, which seems to be the ideal gun : an AK with good sights and a practical safety catch !

Talking about short range shooting : is it just rumours or is the finnish army going to implement the Swiss training concept ?

Production of the finnish assault rifles ended in 90's but if you are lucky enough, you might find a used semi-auto version of an rk95= sako m92 price is quite high some 2000€ or more.

What do you mean by "swiss training concept"?

Stay tuned still more pics to come!!!!

    That'd be an AGS-17.
Nice pictures, man. Looks like the Guards jaegers are indeed well equipped. Is trangia issued to everyone? And the aimpoint?
But excellent pictures, I should really post my archives..
Yhdessä kuvassa kokkaat trangialla ja kaikki hieman levällään, tideustelupuolen ukkona minua vähän hävettäis.. :P

It's not ag-17s, it is the new h&k 40x53mm gmg, aimpoints and trijicon acogs are standard issue there, usually 2-3 weapons with optics for every riflesquad. We used trangias every now and then, for recon units they are standard issue.

Joo onhan ne kamat vähän levällään

Thanks for the pics FDFCorporal. I like those RK95's a lot. As they went out of production, which one is gonna be the next AR for the FDF? Have you heard anything about it? Hope you guys don't go 5.56!!!

BTW, what's the deal with your index fingers on that pic?

There have been rumors that the next AR for the fdf might be G36 but i doudt it because there's really no need today to replace our current rifles.

My finger is on the trigger, is that what you meant?

I didn't know the h&k one was already in use. Any more info where and in what extent?

Yeah, if we would buy new AR now it would probably be either G36 or maybe SIG 550/551, but I don't think we are going to do that for at least another 10 -20 years. They just aren't that much better than our current rifles. It well be interesting to see if there's going to be some modifications for our current Rk 62s, red dot sights and stuff.

@ FDF Corporal : I was talking about the new Swiss concept of combat shooting training, already implemented in France, Belgium, Luxembourg. Spain and Sweden have shown interest in it, and according to rumours, Finland too.

Are you talking abuot the firing stance? Could you elaborate on this "combat shooting training" concept?
