The pocket on the sling is used for soft ear plugs. The plastic hook is strong enough, although not a good as the metal clips.

The tag of shirt...
Issue stamp?
Shirt
Boonie hat, the colour is different with the shirt and trousers. And you can see a big "fashion" on the tag, it's proberly not the military hat.

The front hook is plastic, Is that strong enough for hanging a rifle?

Okey J Bush hat is not issued , its made in chine , I got issued one J in my reserve duty uniform set. It's even looks different .
Rest of the tags are from issued items.
Marom Dolphin is like "Eagle" or Artikis - not cheap "imposter" like Webtex. Some Marom gear used but Elite units in police , Shabak or IDF. (backpacks, vests, body armor)
It's expensive . But the rifle sling is not issued and relatively cheap product of 'em.
Perhaps the type of plastic the sling buckles are made of is DELRIN?Originally Posted by 22.5degrees

Actually the plastic sling hooks are 100% reliable , I can tell you that metal hooks fromIssued slings got lower "survivability" during the service than plastic ones.Remember, in IDF, hooks are NOT connected directly to the weapon sling lugs . The Para cord is connected to the slug, and hooks are connected to Para cord. Most of the gear you can by in local stores. But those be not issued items. Or surplus (no IDF tag on it). When you see new gear with Yellow "IDF" label in Hebrew (like shirt or this bush hat) = it's 99% commercial.Yellow labels got out of service in 80th . You still can find heavy used items from 70th and 80th with such label. So don’t worry about the sling it can hold Ak , Minimi, M16 rifle easily.
Sorry for Hijacking this thread a bit, but I found this pic somewhere in this forum:

What is that blue/white shoulder patch/insignia?
Could be almost any boot camp traineeOriginally Posted by Vioman

It's a young recruit, posing in side his barracks. Very stupid recruit, he is violating several serious rules by posing inside the barracks with loaded weapon.![]()
the shoulder patch is worn by soldiers while in courses like boot camp, officers course and etc'.Originally Posted by Vioman

i don't think that soldier is in a combat unit, the only blue and white patches i've seen were on 02 boot camp soldiers but i could be wrong.
either way he's an idiot for loading his weapon for a photo.
Thank you guys!!!
