Default Polish AMV Rosomak during tests in Maleysia

    Hi everyone.
Here are few photos from polish magazine "Raport". There is a whole article about tests of three wheeled armoured vehicles performed by Maleysian army. And AMV Rosomak is a leader . This shows that Finnish made vehicle is a top world class.
    Article is in polish unfortunatelly.

    First photos- AMV Rosomak

According to the article the Malaysian Army will acquire 98 vehicles in 8x8 version. They will belong to an armoured cavalry regiment. 82 of them will be reconnaissance vehicles and the rest (16) command ones. They will be armed with 25mm or 30mm cannon.
Polish Rosomaks differs from the Finnish version, they can float.

Only AMV have pass all the test without problems. Crew of MOWAG Piranha (in version for Ireland) refused to perform 2 of the tests. All vehicles are brand new.
Vehicles will be equipment for Mechanized Regiment of reorganized army of Malaysia (light cavalry- in the article it'is mentioned the it will be - I think something similar to american armoured cavalry reg.- a recon regiment, or something like that) .

Nobody sad that Rosomak is a leader, just that he performed well - including tests where rest of vehicles failed

In Malaysia was presented Polish made (Finnish designed) KTO Rosomak, not original AMV.

Try to put pictures vertically, not horizontally.

Hi, could you tell me why they refused to do the test and which test they failed because Belgium bougt Piranha IIIC and not the AMV. Patria never got a fair change and the decision to go with General Dynamics and not with Patria was probably made before they saw a vehicle. Pfff. politics.

The Piranha III is battle proven. That can be a big advantage.
Many countries other then Belgium have adopted it.
The AMV is newer, so it has probably been built to meet higher performances then its competitors.

This test simulates battle conditions, and believe me it do it right. Same test was performed during competition on new MBT. Melanesians chosed Polish made PT-91M over T-90 because Polish tank passed it and the Russian one broke down (!!!).

We are sending our KTO Rosomaks to Afghanistan in 2007.

True, Piranha / LAV / Stryker family is very big.

Yes Corran. Rosomak is made in Poland. But still it's a Finnish designed- specialy for meet polish requirements, which were diferent from finnish one's.
And second One: Ok , I'm sorry for using word "leader" it was misunderstanding of text. Better sound that Rosomak made the best impression from tested APC's. I'll work on my word using.
    Pozdrawiam
