Bought Danner Rivot's last week, also bought the fatigue fighter insole as I wanted a little something extra.
I have Reef sandals. Never heard of Hi Tec Reef though. They're good. Got them for free via a coupon. Woulda been like $50 otherwise... kinda a lot for a sandal.

Just got my 4th pair of Lowa's. Mountain Boot Military Brown. Basically the normal mountain boot but in brown/tan leather. For those Middle Eastern winters. Gore tex lined too. Would be hard pushed to buy a pair of boots that were not Lowa. Up for trying Asolo's though. Heard good things about them as far as boots go.

Anyone have any experience with Bates boots? I'm looking for a boot with good breathability now that summers here. I'm tired of my feet swimming...
I'm also looking for some hot weather boots, but specifically safety ones with either a steel or composite toe protector. I've found the issue USMC desert boots that come with toe 'tectors but otherwise I've drawn a blank. Something along the lines of a desert combat boot would be ideal, black boots that don't breathe kill my feet in hot weather.
Thanks in advance.
Standard issue BDP boots or would that be BDB?
No more answers? Bacon- do you can explain it better?
Definitely a pair of BDBs.
Anyone know a decent affordable pair of Black /leather maybe hot weather combat boots?

You mean these sandals, right?
I don't have any experience with them, but I do own a pair of Hi-Tec Windhoek boots. I've only used them for some light hiking, but they're light and comfortable enough. They're kind of on the low end in terms of the quality of boots being discussed here, so I suspect the sandals are built the same way.
If you want bare bones traditional combat boots I strongly recommend http://www.aftactical.com/altama-bla...spec-boot.html.
I'm not sure what you mean by affordable but all the boots I have owned under $100 were terrible and didn't last. Altamas are ther cheapest best boots I have ever worn. They are quite good.
Berry compliant as well.
anyone could ID these boots from "Dogs in the Army" thread?
they look like Marpat boots but no USMC emblem and a different sole?
looks matterhornish to me. they were bought up by corcoran AFAIK...
