My Saloman boots are actually a bit narrower than the average, in my opinion. Don't know if this is of any help but bear that in mind if you are looking to buy online

I do, they are awesome for anything not in thick brush/rocks. They're like wearing sneakers.

    Outstanding boot.

Great build quality, light, no real break-in needed, waterproof, good grip, good ankle support.

Picked up a spare pair since it looks like they are being discounted out...maybe discontinued.
You know these are issue right?
Hopefully mine will turn up in the next week or so.

The Aku NS 564 are phenomenal. I own two pairs, don't hesitate to give them a shot.

I got a pair of Meindl Desert Fox boots. They are light but a bit stiff IMO. Still OK though

So boot gurus, I come to you for advice.

I already know what hiking boots I want, unfortunately, I don't have $200+ to shell out.

However, a multi-day hiking thing is coming up and I need a good pair of hiking boots for cheap. I probably won't wear them for more than this one instance and then keep them for backup. however, I don't have a lot of money to spend or I would be getting the $200 Salomens.

So basically, I need a good pair for sub $100 hiking boots, that are at least 6" because there will be uneven terrain and I don't want to roll an ankle in the middle of the woods. Lots of running, climbing. They need to be durable enough to not get utterly destroyed in one day, but they don't need to last for years. These are really just a temporary filler. I mean, if there is some sub $100 boot that will work exceptionally for years I'll be happy ,but I don't have high expectations.

So good, cheap, 6" hiking boot .
