Are you required to wear steel or non-metallic safety toes?

I'll say what i've said forever. The best two work boots on this planet are made by Redwing or Rocky. Period. A combat boot is a combat boot, a work boot is something different.

Their 700 model is very comfy and durable!

Belleville 790's are awesome. They feel like running shoes and have been nothing but gold for me. Check ebay, I got min for $70 dollars shipped to Ireland. Mine are steeled toed and cause no problems.

I prefer not having a safty toe, the job im at dosent require it at all unless my boss is asking if you know what i mean. But all it dose is gets really cold in the winter and once it is cold it is hard to heat up, so once your feet get cold your pooched. Im a fueler so i just need somthing that is going to be water proof kind of warm in the winter kind of cool in the summer, or breathable, and comfortable on the tarmac. A steel toe dosent really fit the bill for me as much as it did when I was chucking bags, and working around heavy stuff. Id go with a composite toe but i cant find one i like. See the reason im asking is because they give me a boot voucher and it pays for the boot but i can only buy at the store they buy from. The place caries the boot ive been wearing for the past 3 years which is fine but only prob is its steel toe and is cold when its super cold out and not water proof. so that my problem and Just wondering if Danner is a good quality boot and if im going to run into any problems or if i should stick to what ive got, and suck it up.

Ps Id love a Belleville, or a redwing . But they dont have them where im going. Nutz
    Thanks guys for your input

Im on a tarmac all day.

I've had two pairs of Acadias and currenty have a pair of the steel-toed Quarrys. I love Danner boots. My last pair of Acadias I wore the soles flat on. They were still perfectly comfortable, but I almost busted my ass a couple times on wet asphalt.

There may be some other boots worth looking at, but I would imagine you would definitely be happy with the Acadias.

Didn't know those came in 7.62x51.

(Edit: That sure as heck ain't a belt of 5.56. It isn't even live ammunition, which is a good thing looking at his other posts .)
